Fingers well on slides & cuts with no sharp edges though maybe they should when this beginner make mistakes. It would make me do it right or stop me from hurting other ears. LOL. These are Great instruments for the money. And if you have any ear at all makes little successes early on encouraging to learn new fingering to ornament your songs. I like these compared to a Recorder though a well played Recorder is nice, until they get loose. Keep from giving to a toddler as my Brass B_ flat now has multiple dents all over from one day of being used as a baton and coffee table strikes. Babysitter thought instrument was a Toy...arrgg.!!

The higher octave is so pretty and clear. I appreciate the saying that a poor craftsman blames his tools but my high Fs, Gs and As were screechy on my Walton whistle. With this Feadog whistle in D- my notes are like buttah!
