I use Triclopyr to kill Chinese Elms around my property, I mix it 3 to one with diesel (3 parts diesel one part Triclopyr),the same mixture works good for killing Yucca's.

Great blackberry kill as well as nettles and other brush. Really stinky though compared to Garlon.
Works extremely well.

Proper way to mix for basal bark application
Drew KissingerJune 22, 2017
Mix 28oz of Triclopyr 4 with 1 gallon of diesel fuel. This is a 13% concentration, the same as pathfinder2 for a fraction of the cost. The most efficient, cheapest, and responsible way to kill woody shrubs and trees up to 6" diameter is apply this mix to the bottom 6 inches of bark with a 4" paint roller. No overspray. Even the thoughest shrubs will die within 2 weeks. Kills all invasive shrubs: buckthorn, burning Bush, Autumn berry, Asian bittersweet, etc.
Basal application for invasive species
FedsJune 20, 2017
I bought this for basal application on ailanthus trees (a.k.a. tree-of-heaven) and multiflora rosa, both of which are invasive in my region and spread via roots as well as seeds. For ailanthus at first I spray-soaked the lower 15" of bark with the straight mix. After 3 weeks leaves on trees up to 8" trunk diameter were dying. (I just did another application on the larger trees to see if it can kill them without me having to hack into the bark.)

I subsequently read a study by Penn State that showed diluting triclopyr to 5% is just as effective for basal application application as the the earlier standard 20%. (This solution is 62%.) Dilute this with diesel fuel and this goes a long way!
