No such thing as a 20 year weed block.... LOL
Kari OlarJuly 26, 2017
As a professional landscape designer, I am amazed that people put this stuff in their yard and gardens. There are a few things I have a problem with. Weeds find their way under and over this stuff. Believe me, I've seen it. It smothers the soil not letting mulch and good compost debris such as leaves to break down and enrich the soil under and around your plants. So in 10 years you will have 3 inches of compost on top of the weed barrier. It doesn't break down in the soil either so you'll be ripping this stuff out cussing all the way. Better to add a 3-4 inch layer of mulch without the weed barrier. Your plants will be happier.
Works great!

I used this on top of existing an centipede grass lawn to make a gardening area for my MIL. It has been down for about 6 months now and is holding up to daily foot traffic and there are no sign of anything growing through.
Does next to nothing to stop weeds

The weaving allows a tremendous amount of weeds through. For a week barrier application, it is useless. Itis, however sturdy.
Huge Disappointment for Expensive "Warranty" + Update
HonestlyJune 21, 2012
I purchased about 300 linear feet of the 36" wide 20 year Warranty product for new planting beds. I followed all instructions meticulously, PLUS overlapped the fabric by 1 foot in many areas with curved edges. I used the DeWitt anchor pins as well. I mulched on top and in a section about 100 feet linear, used 1" to 2" river rock mulch. Already, after only one month, I have grass and weeds coming through the fabric. This is from underneath the fabric, not on top. After spending hundreds of dollars on this stuff plus untold hours of work, I am so disappointed. After reading the warranty, I discover that I am expected to return "all the product" with the receipt for a refund. Seriously? I have to undo all that work and disturb all my plantings to return this mess? How dare they put such a warranty on this product! Yes, and the warranty is on the "inside" of the packaging, so you really won't get to preview it before you buy. I've emailed the company and will update this if I ever hear from them with good news. I'm not holding my breath.

10/12/2012 update: Just verifying that I never did get a response from the company to my inquiry regarding the warranty. No response whatsoever, except the "read receipt" I got that shows someone actually opened the email. I guess that's the story. They expect me to actually dig it all up and send the dirty mess back to them. Like THAT would happen. Shameful!
