This is not a fine heirloom serving piece, but nicely solves the problem of handling and transporting deviled eggs. The plastic is thin and the 4 latches are light-weight. (It takes a minute to get the hang of latching them: push the bottom up to meet the top.) When latched, it seems solidly closed (that is, no pop open and no air leak).The "handle" molded in to the top is only for lifting off the lid, not for carrying. That said, this suits my needs exactly: I just needed a specialty plate to keep the little suckers from sliding around -- these trays do that perfectly: You can shake the tray back and forth and the eggs don't budge. The top and bottom fit together tightly, and you can put the bottom underneath the top for serving (keeps the top and bottom pieces together so you do not lose or forget the lid). Together, they hold 36 deviled eggs. This means that you can boil 2 dozen eggs and have a few boo-boos, tastes and leftovers, but still take two full trays to the party. Or, keep a tightly-covered trayful in the refrigerator for a quick, tasty, high-protein snack. The material is see-through, so you know how many deviled eggs you have left.

These are not the most sturdy things. The top is a more flexible plastic than the tray that the eggs lay in. The top snaps to the egg tray really easy, but it is not super secure. If this drops or bends too much it probably will make a mess. With all that said, I like them. They are simple trays that look like flowers(great for easter) Also the top can be filled with ice and placed under the egg tray to keep the eggs cool. They are not heavy duty by any means. As long as you are not stacking things on them and they can't slide around they travel fine. They are easy to clean and stack nicely for storage. And that is a good thing for something that only gets used a few times a year.

I love this. It holds many eggs, it keeps them from sliding and tipping and being a mess. I ordered two for family get togethers, parties, pot lucks, luncheons etc. Top keeps them from getting messy unless you're not careful with them. Great buy.

Nice tray for carrying deviled eggs to picnics and other occasions. Keeps eggs separated so that they don't get messy. Lightweight but sturdy enough to do the job. A little hard to lock both sides when the eggs are on the tray but, can be done when careful.
