I Like it!!!

Fits the bill. What do you say about something like this. It was easy to install. The directions were easy to follow. The directions were printed on the access door of the device so I didn't have to store a paper set in that "place I'll always remember". (where ever that was) I use it to turn on / turn off Christmas decorations that are outdoors. It switched a GFCI which can sometimes be troublesome BUT it worked flawlessly all winter. I think it has a battery back-up in the event of a power outage BUT I haven't been back to it since I installed it.(that too is a pretty good indicator) You can also override the programming by simply using the manual on/off switch.
The only improvement that I can see, that they could make, is the ability to compensate for "daylight savings time" BUT the best fix for that would be for them to end the need for daylight savings time.
I have the analog timers and I intend to replace them with this unit, where ever I can.
So far I haven't been able to get it to turn on and off the lights like it should

I just got one to replace a different brand, on which the clock ran behind and the display died, so I couldn't adjust or set anything. So far this one at least goes on and keeps time. So far I haven't been able to get it to turn on and off the lights like it should. Fortunately, I can at least manually turn them on and off but, of course I don't need this for that. First a warning. Nothing at all will work at first, until it gets its battery charged. The document says that might be a few minutes. That's a joke, mine took at least 30 minutes before it responded to anything at all. The documentation must have been written by a consultation between minimum wage Chinese workers and minimum wage American computer programmers. It's absolutely awful. For example, there is no information about how one might shift from one program to another. Nor, for that matter, what in the world to do if you have been struggling to follow the programming steps, you know stuff isn't working like it should--what to do then? Ironically, it seems like the programming instructions for all of these--no matter what company--were all written by the same consultation above.
Programming issues

This item was returned due to the fact it would not work with my electric light arrangement. An electrician installed a similar device and I found it very difficult to program due to the fact of a poor display and tiny buttons. The directions were also very confusing. I had to use a flashlight, eraser head and hold the directions to program it.
Excellent Timer for Outdoor Lighting

This product solved the problem of turning my porch lights on at night and off during the day while still keeping the switch functional. For the price, I can't image anything better (granted I can't control these lights with my Amazon Echo, but I don't think I need to anyways). The installation was pretty straight forward.

(1) turn off power at the breaker
(2) remove old switch
(3) connect wires to the Honeywell
(4) turn breaker on, test, and program with included instructions.

(Note you may need to purchase a new wall plate based on your configuration. These are sold on Amazon as well.)

I was actually not sure if I had the wires correct because I have two porch lights and I felt like I had an extra wire, but with some luck, I got it on the first try. Programming was pretty easy and there are WAY more memory settings that I will ever need. I believe there are 7 memory banks, but each memory bank holds a full 7-day cycle. So you can program your lights to turn on and off 7 different times independently each day for 7 days (so day 1 does not have to be like day 2). I am only using 1 memory slot and have my lights turning on at dusk and off at dawn everyday.

We just went through daylights saving and I was very easily able to update the timing of my lights. Truly a piece of cake.

No, I can't tell Alexa to turn these lights on and off as this switch is not Wifi enabled, nor can I turn these lights on and off with an app on my phone, but honestly, all I wanted was to have my porch lights turn on and off every night and mission accomplishd.
This switch will work fine with an incandescent bulb type of light
George J. RivelloOctober 19, 2016
Check to make sure you do not have an LED porch light as I did with a newer built house. For that, you would need a CFL/LED compatible switch such as the Honeywell RPLS740B or the Intermatic ST01. The timer worked but the switch simply wont turn the lights on /off. This switch will work fine with an incandescent bulb type of light.
