Great Fan With an Exhaust Setting
Connor W✓ Verified PurchaseJuly 13, 2023
This fan works very well. As you can see from the photo, my window is very old and busted, so I needed to add some tape around the edges to keep bugs out.

I primarily bought this fan for two reasons:
1. Vent the hot air out of my room.
2. Vent cigarette smoke outside.

This fan succeeds on both. Keeps the room nice and cool while also keeping the smell of smoke out.
It's a *little* bit louder than other fans I've had, but it's not extremely loud.

Installation was very easy, the one caveat is that the locking adjustable sides can be a bit... finnicky. My window is very wide, so I needed to extend them to their max size, and the locks kept unlocking with the amount of pressure the sides were producing inwards.
However, I got it installed and it's now working great.

The remote works out of the box. It takes 2 AAA batteries (not included).

I'd recommend this fan for anyone who wants to keep their room cool, or vent cigarette smoke.
Very Good Window Fan...

I learned by doing it WRONG, that you really have to look for "reversible airflow" if you want it to blow warm indoor air OUT of your window. Seems about as simple as you can get, right? But I did it wrong at first and had to send back the fan I bought first. Now, this one has the ability to blow air into your room, or take to hot stuffy air in the room and blow it outside. If you leave another window open in that room, it will draw the cool evening air in, while eliminating the stuffy hot air that is currently in the room. It works great doing it that way, but only if you can use the fan as an "exhaust" fan. So this new fan I got does exactly that, and it blows air into the room as well. It's a great little fan if you need one. Jim W.

The pic of the fan on the listing today, is NOT the fan that I bought as I click on the "Review" the purchase. That said, I bought this fan because I have several 2 foot wide windows that are only 22.5 inches wide after trim. This was the only fan I found that would fit and had a reasonable rating. Opinion: it's small, quiet, does the job, fits in my windows nicely. It's simple to turn the fan around to reverse air flow. No remote, no big deal. A bit over priced maybe, but works for me.
too wide for a window

i wanted a fan that i could put into the window (with the screen still on) but this fan is too "fat" or "wide" to fit in the window with the screen still on. it's a great fan if you can remove the screen from your window. i still have to figure out how to fit the fan so that it doesn't fall over on it's own, even with the window pressing lightly on it.

which brings me to another point. the window can't hold the fan in because the top & bottom of the fan is flat and almost 2 inches while the window has a groove of only 1 inch. there is nothing in the description of the fan that explains this. otherwise i would have looked at other fans.

the fan is fine if you don't need to fit it into the groove of the window.
Nice fan in the right scenarios

I've been shopping for a fan for some time. Although I prefer tower fans for the space-saving aspect, the airflow always seems to suffer. Also, every tower fan I've bought in the last decade eventually started with weird squealing or squelch noises when oscillating, which when the house is quiet, I find intolerable. I started looking into window mounted fans and shopped through so many models before deciding on this one, and I'm happy that I did. Firstly, the fan isn't super quiet. To be fair, the fan blades' movement is quiet. The noise I believe many have complaint with is the "hum" that the motors themselves have. Regardless of speed, or direction of the blades, the hum is a constant. If you don't set the fan up correctly in the window, or if it doesn't properly fit your window for some odd reason, it WILL amplify this mechanical, vibrating hum. It's not bad, and it's not overly loud, but you WILL notice it in a quiet environment.

The fan itself, is really nice. It has three speeds via 2 fans that aren't fine tunable (no breeze modes, etc.) so you get those 3 speeds and that's it. It has reversible directions, and also the ability to "circulate" by using one of its' fans as a draw fan, while the other blows in. Nice feature, and I didn't find many fans that had it.

The remote is exactly that. It's remote. It controls. It will require you to have 2 AAAs on hand to use it.

The beeping is really overly-loud. Thankfully, I just turn the fan on and leave it at one setting, so no beeps for me

The lights on the fan themselves are super aggressive, and I see no obvious way to turn them off. Doesn't bother me, but others might want that electricians tape ready to cover these things.

Also to note are the included screens for the unit . One for covering the unit during cold months, I assume, and the other that acts as a mosquito netting when using the fan.
Included are two plastic legs that can apparently be mounted so that the fan can be used table-top style. I can't comment on these as I won't be using them. And I believe there would be better choices if your usage scenario is table-top.

All things considered, the fan "fit the bill" for me, and maybe it will for you too, despite it's caveats.
