I used to sell this stuff in England. It's brilliant! Best building kit ever. If you want to encourage your child in understanding how things are built and how they work you cannot make a better investment. seriously! It's well made, strong,(I used to stand on a four wheeled flat bed to demonstrate its strength.) it may be expensive but the design and simplicity is superior and where can you find a kids building set that has a differential gear? Mr. Fischer died recently, he was the inventor of many great things - expanding wall anchors and the conical paper cup, plus many other things we use without thinking about. You will not regret your investment in this very superior system.

This is a very well made, durable kit that has already engaged my 4 and 6 year olds in lots of fun building! My 10 year old nephew enjoyed using it, too. They are learning about gears, pullies, rotation... following designs as well as making their own! I highly recommend this toy, which goes well beyond legos, magnatiles and tinker toys in all that you can design and make,.

Wow. Just... wow.

I thought my wife was crazy for buying this for our son, looking at all the gazillion tiny pieces and how difficult it was to build that first toy. But now that we've gotten to know the set and have the pieces sorted in a way that makes sense, I totally understand. This set is awesome. It is a bit advanced for our son in terms of building (he's 3, and very advanced for his age), but the toys we can make for him with it are nothing short of amazing, including dump trucks, vehicles with tracks, cranes with a tackle hoist, and... a manual transmission!?!? He absolutely loves them, and goes on and on about how awesome a dad I am for building these epic toys. The experience we're having is simply priceless. And while he can't build the models yet, he can actually help us build by putting certain pieces together, and he has been able to modify toys by adding pieces onto them.

Worth every penny, and then some. Do keep in mind that the more complex models require a fair amount of patience and sharp attention to detail to follow the instructions. But really, debugging things that go wrong is part of the fun!
