Having spent 9 plus days with altitudes between 8,000 and 13,000 feet last week in Peru and I can confirm it worked as best as I can tell. After arriving in Cusco (11K above sea level) you could since the difference between sea level and Cusco. For the next 8 days I took Altitude RX as directed with a morning cup of coco tea. Zero altitude sickness. Total miles walked was 24.3 miles and 59,196 steps between 12/3 & 12/9 which included climbing around at Inca sites. If I did not take it would I feel different, don't know but I can say I had no issues. Age 78.
Awesome Product!

Altitude Rx is a life saver! We just bought a vacation house in the mountains that is at 11300 feet, and we live at sea level. I had never heard of altitude sickness until I experienced it, and it was no picnic! I get it all nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness and extreme fatigue for the first 4 days. And I have experienced this 3 out of 3 times we went up to our house. I even tried staying at lower altitudes for 2 nights before heading up and still got sick. I tried Ginko Biloba and it may have helped just a little. After reading the reviews I figured this would be worth it even if it only relieved my symptoms somewhat. A warning before taking this, be careful what you eat and how full you are. The directions said take with food, but this medication has a bicarbonate effect, you can actually feel it bubbling up in to your throat. So if you take it on a full stomache you may loose your lunch so to speak. I took it after a banana smoothie and the effect was much like the banana/sprite challenge, not pretty. I took the additional doses after eating but I waited about an hour and a half. Also the directions on the bottle and the directions on their website do not match. So this is what I did. I took 2 pills for 1 day morning and night starting 24 hrs before I left. So here is the life saving part, No altitude sickness at all! The only thing I did experience which I am sure was from sleep deprivation from the drive was upon arriving in our town at 9900 feet, I felt light headed and had trouble breathing, but within 20 minutes that was gone. So after being at our house for about 3 days I did start to feel a little fatigued and my head was hurting a little so I took another dose and I was back on track. Highly recommend this product!

A friend and I travelled from sea level to Denver. Within 12 hours of landing we were hiking at 9k feet in the Rockies. Drove up to over 12k and walked around, came back down within 16 hours. Other than feeling like we had less air in our lungs while hiking and it was harder to catch my breath, we had no other symptoms. We stayed in a place at 8500k and had no issues there either, felt totally fine. A year ago I was in the Tetons backpacking after about 36 hours and had some elevation issues at around 10k. Granted, I had a 50lb pack on my back and did some crazy climbing and the terrain was very difficult - but I kept getting dizzy there. I figured I would give this a try. I began using it 2 days prior and throughout our trip. We hiked Gem lake, haiyaha, emerald, bear and some of the continental divide and walked around places on trail ridge road and we were totally fine. We were actually passing everyone else on the trails. My friend and I are happy with the results and I will use again.
Worked in Cusco and Machu Picchu, Peru

I bought these "just in case" for my Cusco/Machu Picchu trip. Upon arrival to Cusco, Peru, I felt headaches and dizziness. It was hard to tell if headaches were due to long days of travel/no sleep (took 3 flights to get to Cusco) or altitude sickness. I started taking 2 pills in morning and 2 days in afternoon on the first day of arrival to Cusco (after headaches). I also drank coca tea and drank ALOT of water prior to the trip and during the trip. My headaches were gone! I continued taking these while in Cusco/Sacred Valley/Machu Picchu (approx 6 days)-didn't have any altitude sickness and didn't have any side effects. The pills are large so I gagged each time I swallowed but managed. My 14 yr old got altitude sickness the 2nd day in Cusco (oxygen level ~70%, nausea, threw up)--we got oxygen canister and altitude sickness pills from the local Cusco pharmacy, which worked very well-don't need prescription. These Altitude RX pills would be too large for him to swallow, but you can easily break them open and place the powder on food.
