Worth what it cost.
Perfect for guitar experiments

Just using this experimentally for an electric guitar and it's fine. I'm amazed by the number of different overtones it produces, depending on what fret you are using it on.

You really NEED to buy rosin with this order. Bow is not pre-rosined and will not make any sound without it.
but the screw will not stay in the wood like the wood was too soft for a durable bow

I bought this bow Nov. 25. Out of the box it had a strong smell of adhesive or some other chemical that I can still smell after five months. The bow broke a few days ago (May 8) - the frog had been slowly separating from the bow for a week. Then it popped off while tightening the bow. I reassembled it, but the screw will not stay in the wood like the wood was too soft for a durable bow. My son plays 4 - 5 days a week for less than a half hour... I expected the bow to last a year or so, not five months.
Not a precision instrument by any stretch...

Most of my amazon reviews have been positive to this point, but this one doesn't quite meet "good" standards (at least 3 stars). The bow arrived on time and was the correct size; however, craftsmanship was certainly not high on their to-do list. The wooden bow is actually twisted. If you hold it so you're looking down the length of the bow, you can quite easily see the defect. It should never have made it off the assembly line and into a box to be sold. Hairs on the bow are okay.It does get 2 stars instead of one since it is functional enough for my child to use it for her beginner violin lessons, but that's about as far as I'll go to brag on it.
