Warning for air travelers
Amazon Customer✓ Verified PurchaseMay 13, 2024
The product works fine, though its temperature is less than I expected, yet it isn't a problem for me. I gave it 4 stars overall and 3 "for travelling". Here's why. I had for fly somewhere for a few days and needed to take insulin with me in a cooler. This cooler is not TSA approved (there's only ONE approved and it requires you to have a freezer available - not an option for me) so beware that you MAY be stopped by TSA and subjected to very detailed scrutiny of your person physically and all of your luggage: everything will be taken out and swiped. If you have time for extra half hour of issues, plus repacking and no problem with being touched all over, it's all good.
Frio for EpiPen Jr
Marie Sinclair✓ Verified PurchaseMay 8, 2024
I bought this product to store an EpiPen Jr in the hot weather. I had a hard time deciding what size to get and settled on the Large. Anything smaller would have been too small for our use. The large will fit 2 EpiPen Jrs, in their cases but without the clip when it has been soaked for 7-10 minutes and allowed to air dry for the recommended 30 minutes. I was able to cram 4 of the individually packaged prefilled Benadryl 5 ml liquid blister packs (Walgreens brand) in around the EpiPens. When I put 3 EpiPens in their clear cases in the Frio it will not velcro shut, but without the cases, 3 fit easily. The last picture is the Frio velcro'd shut with 2 EpiPens and 4 blister packs of Benadryl.

This product does keep the EpiPen Jr cool on hot days at pool parties and splash pads. We bought a red one to make sure it was easy to find in the diaper bag. We have not experienced any color bleeding right now, but I haven't tried drying it with a towel, I just soak it in a ziploc container, empty the container and propped it up on the edge of the container to dry for a while. After a day of use, the outer pouch feels damp but not wet, probably just enough to get paper damp but not ruin what is on it. At the end of the day I take it out, separate the cooling pouch from the outer pouch and let it air out. It doesn't dry out nearly as fast as I expected, but I do resoak it the next day if we're going out again. I would definitely buy this again and recommend it to anyone needing to keep an EpiPen cool.
The Frio is a must for traveling with insulin.

This product enables safe travel options to ensure insulin is kept at the right temperature. It's easy to use. It does need to be replaced after two years.

While these aren't perfect they are the best thing I've found to keep insulin cool. The cloth materials make them easier to pack.
