I bought it for my three year old grandson. It was the perfect size and gift. He loves it easy to set up and great quality.
Drum kit built for a kid, strong enough for an adult

Santa brought this to our three year old. On Xmas Eve my husband assembled it, as a musician he was impressed with the quality considering the cost. It put together quickly similar to an adult drum kit. My only regrets, it didn't come with ear plugs. Our daughter loves it! And my husband even plays it sometimes.
Adult users, this review is for you

I'm an adult with a small recording studio room in my apartment. I wanted to get a basic, cheap, compact drumkit to practice & record demos with because I was not satisfied with the robotic sound of drum programs like Hydrogen in my music. Even with proper damping this isn't a pro quality kit, but if you are into raw, lo-fi music like I am, that isn't an issue.
This kit has a few kinks that need to be worked out for serious users, but it is a great starter kit for kids as is. I did not have any issues with the hardware like some other reviewers did. It was fairly easy to assemble. The kit fits into a corner of my small studio nicely - it takes up FAR less space than a full size set.
I ordered the green kit and it is a nice, metallic emerald green color with a hint of teal. It looks good. The color in the photos is accurate on both my computer monitor and phone screen.
The smaller drums are naturally quieter than larger ones - a bonus for apartment dewllers. I suggest damping the tom and snare, and stuffing a pillow or two inside the bass drum. Another consequence of their size is higher pitch.
The snare is adjustable not with a side lever, but a dial that you can turn to engage or disengage the snare mechanism. With the snare engaged, it is somewhat sizzly and weak (not very snappy) but sounds decent.
The 10" cymbal sounds a little bit better than using a frying pan or bucket lid, but not much. It is tinny and cheesy sounding, but that's to be expected at this price.
Recommendations for ADULT users; I suggest getting a larger drum throne, or even an adjustable office chair can substitute. The small stool is decent did support my 210 pound weight for a short time but it is very short and I suspect it may break under me since it's made for kids.
Also, the bass drum pedal is a VERY rough and squeaky contraption made of pressed sheet metal, with a nylon strap driving it rather than a chain. I don't mind the strap drive much, but the pedal does not want to sit level and there is too much resistance on the backstroke. The beater is okay. I recommend keeping in mind that you will probably want to replace the bass drum pedal with something affordable but of better quality.
I would also replace the cymbal with a better one, though the one included is not the worst I have heard. Wuhan cymbals are decent and affordable.
Most of the hardware seems solid enough. The only part that concerns me is the tube that connects to the tom. When the tom is rotated, you can feel the set screw scraping the tube and it may strip/wear the spot if rotated often.
I will update my review if I have any issues with this set, but overall, I like it.

It was a pain to put together because I didn't know what was what and the directions weren't specific, but after everything was said and done it was great!
My 2 yr old loves it!

The seat is too high for my son to sit and reach the pedal but that didn't stop him from getting his beats in. You need to know how to put heads on properly. The reason I don't give 5 stars is because the snare drum is a bit wobbly.
