Cats are loving it! Grows quite quickly. The root system is absolutely insane! Very compact and tight. Grown inside in dirt. Water everyday until grass is a few inches tall. Afterwards you only need to water every few days. Going on 3 weeks and the grass is still going strong.

This product is not 100% barley. Out of a 5 pound package we collected about 5 1/2 ounces plus of Pea and lentil seeds or fragments there of. This is more than the vendors claim of of the allowed 4% mix of other seeds that may be present with the barley. We did sprout some with the seed without cleaning it and it was very teadious to clean out the pea and lentil seeds which needs to be done.

Sprouts ok, but not great. For every 2 Tablespoons of barley, there are 1/2 teaspoon of lentils or split peas. (I'm not sure which) It's hard to believe these have good quality control and brings into question the "organic" aspect.

Stay away from this seller. There are a large quantity of Yellow Split Peas contaminating the Sprout House barley seeds we received. This is careless and shoddy handling of grain from some bulk box-car lot fit for cows (maybe) but not for sprouting . ... and who knows what other contaminants (rat and mouse feces?) are included in this? ... of course... returns not accepted by this company.
