Small bag, Good Seed

We are in Florida 9b and this grass seed is growing very well. I didn't spread it by the instructions (mixing with sand), and I didn't prepare the ground like I should. However, I watered frequently and the grass has grown in very well. It's soft and full with a nice lush green color. Our plan is to use this to fill in some spots after reworking the gardens, and then let the native plants take over. I don't know how it does in winter yet - we do get some cold snaps. But it's thriving in the heat of the summer in full sun.
Patience is key

I seeded in November but it was too cold for germination, but months later it started filling in nicely!
Product as advertised.

I have tried patching damaged areas of my lawn with various brands of seed, to varying results. I have had little luck with the seed from the Big Box Stores, even to the point of zero germination.
My best luck had been from a local sod company, but they have since closed most of their retail stores, and their pricing on mail order skyrocketed.
I decided to give this company a try, as ordering through Amazon has been easy, and comes when promised. For this product, it was about 25% less than the local company, and with free shipping.
I followed the directions on the packaging, like with all seed, and planted once the ground was warm enough, and provided it with the required daily watering. Their claim is ~85% germination, and I would say that was accurate. The seed is coming up, and starting to fill in.
If I need more of this type seed, I would not hesitate to reorder.

Works great in a hot, humid climate!

Purchased to fill in bare spots. After removing the thatch and loosening the soil, I sprinkled a generous amount of seed through the bare spots then sprinkled each spot with a light layer of peat moss to help retain moisture. The peat moss also allowed me to easily see if the seeds were getting too dry. I watered the spots with a garden hose roughly every two hours during daylight hours to keep them from drying out. In about 7 days I had little grass whiskers all over. The photos are taken between two and three weeks after planting. My suggestion if you're not getting this to grow is that you may not be watering enough. Once the seed germinates and "cracks open", if you let it dry out then it will close back up and the seed will be beyond saving no matter how much you water or wait. It is absolutely imperative that the seed stays moist while it is in this phase. I would 100% buy this seed again and would recommend it to anyone willing to spend a just few minutes each day nourishing it while it's getting started. I love that it's just seed, no filler material.
Sprouted quickly!

I live in S. Georgia and planted these the first week of July when the ground temps were consistently above 70F at night. Planted them on a Saturday and they started sprouting within 5 days. 10 days later and I have a fine fuzz of seed across the whole backyard.
My process was:
Round Up applied the weeds and undesirable grass (bermuda - tough as nails grass but I don't like it!)
Waited 5 days and tilled the entire back yard
Removed the dead grass/weeds with steel rake
Graded and smoothed the surface
Mixed grass seed with sand per the instructions and added grass seed starter fertilizer (25-25-4) to the seed/sand mixture
Dragged a steel rake across the entire lawn to break up the surface
Spread seed/sand/fertilizer mixture evenly and gently raked over with a wide plastic lawn/leaf rake
Spread GreenView Fairway Formula Seeding Success evenly across the entire backyard
Watered 3x/day for 15min each time at 5a,11a and 3p.
Soil type is dominated by clay with some sand. The top 2 inches were black and rich, so I didn't amend.
Pro tip - make sure the sand you mix with is bone dry or else you'll have a hard time spreading it with a broadcast spreader. I am very happy with the results and at a fraction of the price of sod. You just need some patience!
