I'm very pleased with the quality of construction of this blank. The Damascus pattern is really nice and the tang was nice and flat. The size is nearly perfect for a working skinning knife. The only issue I had is the pin holes are somewhat difficult to fit unless you have access to metric pin stock. No worries though after a few minutes on the drill press, US standard pins fit just fine. Overall, it's a very nice blank for a more than fair price. I paired mine with copper pins and birdseye maple.

Wrapped knife blade blank

Upon fitting the scales to the knife blank, I could see day light between the blade tang and the wood. I placed the knife on metal flat surface and noticed the blade tang was slightly wrapped.

Beautiful Damascus blade visually. Tang is not quite flat nor is it of uniform thickness, but both issues can be fixed relatively easily. The overall shape and size of the blank is nice. I haven't quite finished the build yet, so haven't tried sharpening it to see how well it takes and holds an edge.
