This is a fantastic chess set, with an elaborate base and pieces. I set it up immidiately, and it is truly better in person than the pictures can convey.

WOW!!! I was looking for the "perfect" chess set as a birthday gift for my boyfriend and he was in absolute awe! He LOVES, LOVES this! The details of the pieces and board are so amazing and it draws you into the game itself as if it's coming to life. So, so happy I went with this purchase!! The pictures do not do it justice. Also, the packaging was nicely and carefully put together. Much appreciated.

My husband adored his gift. It looks amazing as a centerpiece on our dinner table. Everyone who visits notices it right away and compliments on its uniqueness and beauty. All guests feel enthusiastic to play chess, even beginners. The metal playing pieces are very resilient, even though it is pliable. The board itself is glass, but quite sturdy. The piece that holds it up is so detailed and very heavy. Very well made. Must purchase if u have a chess lover who will appreciate a beautiful gift

I purchased this for my father for his birthday. My sister and I wanted a unique gift because my dad is the type of man who has EVERYTHING so it is hard to shop for him. And he absolutely loved it! He was very happy. I was pleased with how fast it arrived to his house and how it was packaged and nothing was damaged. When I buy myself a house, I will definitely get one as well. This is something that needs to be put on display for all to see, and it may be too fancy for my tiny apartment. The bottom support is absolutely gorgeous as well.

First of all, the way the seller shipped the item was great for making sure it wouldn't break as it was mailed. The glass board was taped between two huge pieces of styrofoam, the pieces were each individually in a pocket in the styrofoam, and the base was in a bag also taped between another two styrofoam pieces. Overall, I don't think the chess board breaking through transit would be a problem!

My opinion of the actual chess board is that it's beautifully detailed and crafted. The base has so many intricate designs, such as broken swords, armor, and dead warriors. The glass board goes on top of the base by putting the four corners of the board onto the castle-like buildings on the four corners of the base. The pieces look beautiful. They are quite tall and hefty.

The chess board came with a warning that you have to put it on a hard, flat surface or else it will deform, so upon buying it, you should get a place ready to put it because it's very big and heavy, so you shouldn't lug it around that much.

Overall, this is a great item! I definitely recommend it!
