I am ssoo impressed with this little hot plate. I was not expecting the endurance.
I have been using this every day since December, since living in a rehab (so much fun..yagh!!)
Cleaning is a little difficult getting under the coil..but, what do you expect for that price.
The cord is only about 2 ft long, I am assuming that is because of the nearness of the wall recepticle as a reminder to unplug after use..since all hot plates should be unplugged after use and never kept plugged in.

Been using mine for only 5 months and the temperature knob does the bad things others have mentioned and something much worse. Sometimes, when I turn it down to "off" the indicator light and burner/element stay on!! Very dangerous!! I doesn't do it all the time but it only takes once to cause a very bad problem.
Cheap crap

You get what you pay for. The first time I fired it up, it SMOKED and filled my apartment with the smell of burning plastic. I opened up all the windows, scooped up my cat and we sat in the bathroom for thirty minutes waiting for it to air out. After it had smoked me out, I am still hungry and (unintelligently) decide that if it smokes me out again I'll order out. Well, it didn't smoke that time so I started cooking. Problem is, once it had gotten up to temperature, the damn thing turned off. In order to keep my water boiling I had to continually move it from full on to full off. Evidently tuckered out after its ordeal, the little Imusa obediently turned itself off permanently and died, allowing me to toss it in the garbage without a twinge of regret.
Don't buy this thing.
Don't buy this thing.
No adjustment for temp, effectively only high and off.

This product is worthless, and just to clarify, by worthless I mean garbage .. not worth the price of transporting to the landfill. If you want to cook something with any resemblance of a consistent temperature, be prepared to micro manage the dial for 45 minutes. I really don't understand how you can call this a cooking device if it doesn't stay in a mode that resembles a consistent temperature. Camping stoves perform 10,000% better in this regard as you can actually adjust the temp. If you leave this unit to its own devices, there are two modes .. completely burnt (on high) or not cooked (literally no heat) at all there is literally no in between. If you leave it on low, you get .. high for 15 seconds and then off for 15 minutes.
The overheat safety keeps shutting it off making cooking nearly impossible

We bought this one for traveling over the road. We chose this one because of the reviews and the wattage. We only used it one night because it was such a PITA. It has the over-heating safety thing where it shuts off as it gets warm when it reaches temperature or whatever, so you have to constantly monitor it or your food won't cook. I was constantly having to turn up the temperature so the darn thing would stay on so we could cook our dinner. The inverter we had couldn't handle anything higher, otherwise I would have bought something better. I'd return it but it is past the date, I believe. If you're in a truck, figure something else out. Don't get this one. You'll waste your entire 10hr break on this heating your dinner. Just use your microwave.
