Easier to use and as good or better quality than the expensive competitors.

Great action camera for the budget minded. Not as fancy as the GoPro, as the features are not all there. (one that would be great is being able to flip the recording if the camera was mounted upside down). But the video quality is there for sure at this price. LOTS of mounting options. Controls could be a little better and easier to access.

I love this toy! It was more than I expected. I first bought a gopro but with all the add-ons I wanted, I was going to spend another 100-150$. So I decided to return it and purchased this one. I got what I wanted: mounts for helmet, the car and the remote. The remote is what is sold it for me. It's so convenient. All of it for under $140 is a steal.
Video quality is pretty good. My brother has a gopro silver and after a couple of bike runs in the mountains, he decided to buy one. The quality between the 2 is so similar. I would give the gorpo just a little more contrast but that's about it. Among friends, no one can guess which vid came from each unit.
Some commented on memory that you lose recording when you run of it. That's a problem if you're using a 2, 4GB card. Memory cards are so cheap nowadays. I bought a 16 and I can put a lot of stuff in it. 20 minutes of 1080 vid plus 50 or so pics totals just under 2GB. Class 10 works well and no lag or stuttering occurs in my videos.
Overall, I'm happy with it.

I bought the Swann rather than the Go-Pro because I did not know if this type of wearable camera would fit my needs. I took the Swann to Hawaii for whale watching and used the head mount gear and recorded amazing whale behavior. The video quality is excellent and it is so easy to download to my computer. 5 stars!!!!!

Steer Clear for warranty problems. After purchasing 5 cameras from Amazon, with one failure after 2 months, this is the response I got from Swann Tech Service.

Amazon states I cannot return it to them, and Swann says they don't want it either. So, I'm left holding the bag for 169 dollars on a Swann Freestyle Camera. Two
multi million dollar companies, and one of them is ducking their responsibility to the consumer, and btw, Rommel, I published a review just as you asked.
