I was initially skeptical about a plastic post--I was leaning towards steel or wood. I gave this a shot, and I'm glad I did. Very sturdy, serviceable imitation wood grain gives it some texture, and keeps it from looking too much like plastic. Just installed it, so I can't comment on long-term durability, but it seems like it will hold up well. It's 100% recycled plastic. "Made in the USA." Enough said.

After a winter in the ground this hasn't faded a bit - looks pristine. It's mounted in concrete so it's pretty stable, but the post itself has also remained without defect. Given the different sizes of mailbox out there you will most likely need a different base to mount the box.

Very Nice material and finish. Easy to assemble and uses quality fasteners with torx tool included. Only concern is that the mailbox is a little "wobbly" when you have the Mail Boss 7506 mounted. Maybe it's better with smaller mailboxes.
