We played this at my friends house and my daughter had to have it. Very fun for a family game night.

We bought this game as a gift for our niece (8 years old), and we had a blast playing with her and the family! It was perfect because it is hard to tell if the adults or kids had more fun (honestly), which was exactly our goal! We wanted to give her a gift that was interactive and not mindless, something special that was fun and she could hold on to for a long time, so we figured a quality game for the family would be perfect. It's tough for a game to be a pleaser of two different generations simultaneously, but this one nails it. Completely innocent and PG, yet also challenging enough for both kids and adults, kids can keep up well, and sometimes are even better with their creativity.

The game is self-explanatory if you have played charades before. We did not spend too much time with the directions. You have a game board which you 'spin the clock on', and it lands on a number corresponding with which word from the charades card will be the one you are acting out (the card has 3 choices on it, and the game board will tell you which of the 3 you are acting). It comes with a super large card stack, each card with 3 options, so repeats will take a loooong time to come by. You also have a timer for acting - I have to say, I did feel that that the timer was not long enough, I didn't time it exactly but it had to of been no more than 30 seconds, but the words we had to act had enough complexity to them that it would be nice if the timer was longer and I think it would give a chance for more creativity and more laughs, it still would not be too easy! Additionally, the words or phrases that we were supposed to act were by no means 'easy' -- quite challenging, maybe I am just a newbie but would be nice if they were a tad easier, it is more fun when people have a chance of guessing right, not when the words are prohibitive to success! :) Even 'easy' words or phrases that are common knowledge are not so easy when it comes to acting them out without any props or language.

Fun for the whole family. Even my mother, who is normally quite reserved, joined in. The youngest player was 5. They do have cards for younger family members and after some explanation, she figured out how to act out the cards easily. We just made up our own rules and let her play on both teams so she wouldn't get bored waiting for a turn again. But everyone had fun. Teams had a 'grump' each - someone that wouldn't get up and act it out but couldn't seem to control themselves and not shout out guesses!! So the game was fun, for young, old, everyone in between and it was easy to customize the rules to include everyone in some way.

My daughter loves to play charades but we can never think of ideas. This game is great for that! However, keep in mind that it comes with 4 or 5 packs of cards to play with. Some packs definitely need to be played with an adult. For instance the Hollywood pack. I would imagine most kids are too young to know most of ideas on the cards but with the help of an adult they should be fine.

I bought this for my 5 year old's birthday. He is in the stage where he wants to play games with everyone but because he is still learning to read he needs extra help. I also have 3 other kids different ages and we all had so much fun playing this game. There is plenty of cards to do a whole round for someone to win. My younger kids love the fact they can act out the picture cards without having to worry if they are doing it right since they are for them to interpret and decide if it is right. I love the confidence it gives my kids and since there is an age gap between my kids it gives them all something fun they can play together. We have never laughed so hard playing a game. My kids are 2, 5, 6, and 10 and they had a blast playing this with my husband and I. I highly recommend it for families of all sizes and ages it will definitely bring some laughs and fun times. Perfect for those family nights.
