Highly recommended. I wanted to wait until I had the spinner for a few months before offering my feedback. I have probably owned 5-10 salad spinners over the years and this one is the best by far. The pull string seems very sturdy, works smoothly and gets the greens quite dry after a few pulls. Yes, it has a "yo-yo" action rather than a continuous motion but it is much more efficient and effective than plunger type spinners. The bowl is big enough to accommodate a full head of lettuce and most importantly is surprisingly solid. The major flaw with most spinners is that the bowl is fairly thin and has a tendency to crack if you grab it by the edge while it's full of water. No such problem here.

Highly recommended. I wanted to wait until I had the spinner for a few months before offering my feedback. I have probably owned 5-10 salad spinners over the years and this one is the best by far. An excellent replacement of a Zyliss salad spinner in which the hard plastic bowl had fallen and cracked in too many places to be functional.

Very disappointing purchase

The cord on my much-beloved old salad spinner finally broke, so I went in search of another spinner with a cord. The handle-operated ones don't work well. This one seemed to fit the bill. But when it arrived, I realized there is no place to pour the water on the top, or an opening on the bottom to let the water out! You have to open the lid, pour in water, spin the lettuce to wash it, then empty the basket of water, and spin to dry it. With my old spinner, I just turned on the faucet over the opening, pulled the cord to spin-wash it, then turned off the water and pulled the cord to spin-dry it. This one works OK, it's just a lot more trouble. Also, I ordered a blue basket and got a green one. :(
