This has been a structurally sturdy and attractive cover but I have to mark it ...
Bishop Black✓ Verified Purchase•March 19, 2017
This has been a structurally sturdy and attractive cover but I have to mark it down because there is a microfiber lining along the inside that flakes right off with very light wear (i.e., just holding it with clean hands for an average of a few hours a day over two to three weeks), leaving black, crumbly lint in your hand, maybe on the pillow if you're reading in bed. I had it open and sitting on a nightstand and the lining actually stuck to the tabletop (which wasn't damp, freshly polished, or anything, just sitting out in an air-conditioned room), and little black bits adhered to the wood. Fortunately it wiped off the wood, but clearly the lining is disintegrating even with no friction. If they made this with no lining, it would be a perfect and handsome Kindle cover.
Nice but no hole for camera or charging
Delphine Darcel✓ Verified Purchase•May 18, 2016
This case technically fits the Kindle Fire, however, you have to take it out for charging because the port is covered. You also have to take it out of the case to take a picture because the camera is covered. So, it's not cut for the kindle fire like other cases. On the other hand, the leather is nice and it looks great. Four stars may be generous if you plan to use the camera on the fly and you don't want to pull it out of the case for charging. I don't really plan on using the camera since my phone has 20 mp. Also, I've only had it for a couple of days and the "velvet" on the seam has rubbed off a bit already. Not bad enough to return but a leather case that's actually cut for the fire would be nicer.
If I could only buy this case again for New Kindels, this is the best case ever made
Morris-Ken✓ Verified Purchase•January 7, 2016
This is a great cover, it stands perfect, folds back great for hand holding and reading, I am writing this review a few years later, because I did not know how great it was until I got some of the covers that Amazon is selling today for their Kindels Fires. I tried to buy this type of case again for my new Kindel Fire HD 7, 7", (4th Gen) which they for some reason have stoped making. The cases for todays Gerneration come with a rear cam but it is useles if you get a case with it because you cannot just fold the case back and hold it to take a photo. You have to, which is hard hold open the case, which is ackward to take a photo or try to take it out of the case, which is also hard to even get out of the case and put it back in.
If they did not stop making this case for my Kindel Fire HD 7, 7", or even carring it of Kindel, you could easily slide my Kindel out of this great case and take a photo. It seems that Apple was smart enough to keep this company Marware making there wonderful cases for the Apple because they know that this is the best case made for Tablets.
This is a great case and company, they make great quiality cases for all tablets, I would be a return buyer if they just made a case for my Kindel Fire 7 HD 7" (4th Gen), I would not even mind if it did not have a hole for the camera, because it is so easy to take the Kindel out of the case to use the camera, because cases are useless, with the hole for camera anyway, so I they made a case to fit my new Kindel, which I hate, because I cannot buy this wonderful case to fit my new Kindel.
Amazon would sell a lot of these cases if they maded them for the new Kindels, people would even pay a lot for a great quality case, which will out last the Kindel.

LOVE, despite big design FLAW
mari✓ Verified Purchase•December 10, 2015
This is a good quality case! I love the look and feel. It does what the description says it will: provide protection, style, and a way to prop up the kindle. One thing that I should mention: it is a bit of a drag that the case covers the usb charging port. This means EVERY time you have to charge your kindle, you MUST slide the kindle down a bit or completely remove it to access the port. I'm guessing this is why the cases are so cheap, because of this single design flaw. It is definitely annoying, and there is no way around it that I found. I tried flipping the kindle upside down, but then the case depresses the volume button and the screen becomes dysfunctional until the volume button is released. Despite this annoyance, I'm still happy to use it. My kindle battery does not drain quickly, thus so far it's been tolerable. I own two, one in brown and one in green.
A GREAT cover for your 2nd generation Kindle Fire!
AMW✓ Verified Purchase•March 6, 2015
Marware makes GREAT Kindle covers, and this one is for the Kindle Fire (Previous Generation - 2nd). This is a great cover which I happened upon by accident. And it's SO-O-O-O-O much better than any other 2nd generation Kindle Fire cover. And for the price ($10.75 on 3/8/2015). it can't be beat. (Hey, a whole lot of people gladly forked over $44.99 for this cover when it first came out, which says a lot for this cover.)
This cover has a classy look and a classy feel. It's made of leather, and it look and feels gorgeous. It stands in both the horizontal and vertical positions quite sturdily. An added bonus is the built-in interior hand strap, which takes the strain off holding the Kindle Fire. In addition, an outside strap holds the cover closed, and when the cover is open, that same strap will securely hold the case in the open position so the front cover isn't flapping around.
I LOVE it! And my advice to anyone who wants a cover for their old 2nd generation (2012) Kindle Fire: Don't even THINK about buying any other cover. And buy the black Marware cover: it looks great, and the colored ones can only be purchased from secondary sellers who charge 2 to 3 times more than Amazon does for the black cover.
