Tuff install

This is a well made piece but installation can be a challenge. Since my jamb already had a deadbolt, installation was time consuming. Even though I was very accurate with my template and drilling the faceplate did not match up with the mortised area. Not for the faint of heart
This should be on every single outside door you own!

This is the easiest security upgrade out there! its perfect! Yes longer screws in a standard plate are fine, but this is next level! its so easy to install. it has squared corners so it fits nicer than the rounded corners that always look like crap when i chisel them out. This spreads the load out, if someone wanted to kick the door in, they would have to kick in half the wall as well! great product, easy install, well done!
Peace of Mind Upgrade

Had my contractor install this, he didn't really have any issues. Had to pop off maybe a half inch from the posts, but that's it. Basement door feels much more secure now with the various trash that walk the alley way back there. Recommend for sure to give you some peace of mind.
Can Be Difficult to Install

I really like the idea behind this strike plate, and it is pretty well made, however it can be difficult to install in some instances. It's pretty straightforward but the problem you may run into is the old screw holes from the old strike plate can make it hard to drill the new holes because the old holes are so close to the new ones that it keeps wanting to make the 1/2" holes not line up properly and the drill bit wonders which can throw everything off.
Strong and good quality, but hard to install.

This is a robust reinforcement and very solid, but it requires drilling two 1/2" dia. holes almost 3" deep into the door frame. I drilled pilot holes, but my drill bit still was a bit rough and it was difficult to drill straight. It damaged the wood somewhat, but when installed it was solid. I used wood putty fix areas drill bit damaged and plate covered it all up. Bottom line - a good device, but drilling takes a seasoned handy-man.
