I am in the process of returning this item. I was very disappointed with the quality of product. I know Seiko is a well known product so I chose to order. When received disappointed the clock itself was all plastic except of course the dome which was glass. I felt the price I paid did not match up to the quality therefore returning. Thank you for allowing me to express my displeasure.

I love how it looks always wanted one like it only setback is that the base is plastic not metal but still great product would recommend it just know that the base is plastic

This clock is absolutely beautiful. We had received a similar clock as a gift 21 years ago and it finally died. I was so pleased to see that Amazon had one so similar. It is keeping perfect time. My only complaint is that the instructions weren't clear on how to insert the batteries on the back. It requires batteries in two places.

This clock arrived well packed and with all the batteries required to operate it. It is slightly smaller than the older Seth-Thomas mantel clock we replaced, but the pendulum actually spins, whereas the Seth-Thomas version never did. We've had it over a week now, and it seems to keep accurate time. This model does not chime, but we wouldn't use that feature anyway. Yes, it is made of plastic, but it looks authentic even from a short distance. It is a good value for an economical clock solution. Prices on mantel clocks run from $50 to $200, then jump mysteriously to $2000 to $4000. It's interesting there is nothing in between.
