I have this feeder, and a Brome Squirrel Buster Plus and a Brome Finch as well.
Anyone can make a bird feeder, but Brome knows what they're doing.
Go ahead - buy a cheap feeder first and struggle with all sorts of problems. Then get a Brome and enjoy both the birds and squirrels without frustration. You'll appreciate the difference and see why the higher price is worth it.

Perfect! No squirrels and with weight setting I'm able to set at very sensitive setting which keeps larger birds & piggy sparrows from emptying the feeder too fast. My favorite wood peckers found the feeder under half an hour and could comfortably feed.

It has worked to deter the squirrels. Have had many types of birds cling to and eat the peanuts or suet nuggets. (Jays, wrens, nuthatches, woodpeckers, etc.) The jays come in groups several times a day and take turns for the peanuts. Great customer service with this company. They do seem to back up their warranty. A great high energy feeder that is well made to last.

Love this! Unfortunately, so do the local bears. It's still pretty tough. Brome sent me a new inner part when the connector to the hanger broke, no charge, so they stand by their product. Peanuts are an excellent way to attract a whole other kind of bird, and it is truly squirrel-proof. Ha ha! Slams shut when weight over a certain amount is exerted on the sliding exterior sleeve.

I have a few of this brand. All are very good quality and will last a long time, but pricey. I definitely have a squirrel in residence in the yard and so far, none of any style have been raided. This one doesn't hold a ton of food and is not particularly intuitive to fill. The top lifts off by removing the bottom hanging hook out of a rod that the allows the top to be taken off. I hadn't filled it in a while and forgot how it worked. It's a little awkward and if you are thinking about it, I would choose another design. I have flickers in my yard but so far only the finches have been feeding.
