I purchased this unit almost 3 years ago and about 1 1/2 yr. ago, 2 quail (several months apart) HUNG THEMSELVES on the hook portion that meets the main upright pole. I SOLVED THIS by tightly wrapping tie wire (steel wire) at 3 points: the hook that you hang the bird feeder onto, the curved portion next to the main upright pole (where the quail hung themselves), and lastly- the main upright pole. The unit itself is very durable. It has survived the summer heat, the rain and snow, and high winds.
and the squirrels found it to be a great launching pad in their attempt to reach the feeders

Our family of three humans and 2 cats have had hours of entertainment from the birds this feeder hangar has helped to attract. My 12 year old son assembled the device in about 20 minutes and we have had no issues with slippage. We are hanging 2 finch / thistle feeders and a larger squirrel proof cylinder feeder. I ended up removing the bird bath as seeds would fall in it, I was worried about mosquitos breeding, and the squirrels found it to be a great launching pad in their attempt to reach the feeders. Now its been removed the squirrels are having a hard time shimmying up the pole. The base is wide which helps stability, and I've not felt the need to further stabilize the base with added weight. Overall this has demonstrated excellent price to quality. Thumbs up.
A little dangerous for the rest of the wildlife

I bought this a couple of years ago and it does a great job feeding birds. It also does a great job killing squirrels. There have been several times when squirrels have become trapped between the main pole and the arms holding the feeders. I really was upset by this and tried tying the arms closer to the pole. Sort of worked. I've taken it down. I was able to find a squirrel before it died a miserable death as had happened twice before. Enough.
Very well constructed

A great addition for an 80 year old mother, light enough for her to move on her own yet heavy enough that it has sustained 40 mph winds this past spring without blowing over. Never again purchase Shepard hooks that require king Kong to plant them in yard and no ability to easily move as you please. Shall order again soon to add more bird feeders and hanging plants.
Worth Every Bit of the $45 It Cost

I kicked it around for a while because it's twice the price of most feeder hangers, but it is a three station with a bird bath, and it's portable. The ability to move it around and adjust the hangers to wherever/whatever you want is really nice. This is American made quality! Ain't no cheap Walmart/Made-in-China piece of junk. Worth every bit of the $45 it cost. I just missed getting the picture with a hummingbird sitting on the top feeder arm. I would most definitely recommend this to others, and am going to buy a couple more for plant hangers inside the home.
Just put it together last night, so this setup in the picture isn't permanent.
