Great Product

Adds marvelous aroma and taste to whiskey or rum. I snap off a 3 inch piece and then place it inside a broad mouth glass cider or fruit juice bottle 48 oz or so. After the desired infusion time I use a coffee filter and plastic drip cone to filter back into the liquor bottle.

I was amazed how well these worked to cut the harshness out of lower end bourbon.
Good flavor, not very easy to use

I'm a big fan of French oak whiskey! Adds good flavor, takes some trial and error. My two biggest complaint is after doing the my conversions for a bottle. It's not very easy to break off a small chunk of it for a bottle Nor does the stick fit into a bottle. I usually have a to use a couple different tools to cut it then break it up so it can actually fit into a bottle
Oak Barrels too big, Try these.

I have been making wine for 3 years now and as i increased the amounts bottled the need to add oak flavor to that wine as been handled many different ways. At first oak chips were added to the containers as it aged. Ok! but really messy to remove from the containers. Oak cubes better but not great. Then i found spirals from the Barrel Mill and these were great for the small tanks but to big for carboys. The French oak infusion spirals are smaller and fit right into the carboys. My biggest concern is that the instructions state that 2 spirals per 6 gallon container, 6 weeks max saturation. Here is were you need to be careful. These things work fast. At 3 weeks my wine had all the oak needed and had to be removed.
I would like to see the spirals wrapped with a nylon netting and a string that would allow them to be removed from the containers with out pouring the wine into another container, called racking. If you can't use barrels this is the way to go.
