Excellent stuff

I live in the middle of nowhere with one very limited grocery store. They have one or two brands of sour cream but that's about it. I prefer creme freche and cannot buy it, so must make it myself. I've been using this product for years. I've never had a failure. Once I purchased enough packets to last me for a year and kept them in the deep freezer and, sure enough, still good.
Excellent way to get creme fraiche

The creme fraiche starter packet allows you to make creme fraiche in your house for much less money that the product is sold for in the stores. The culture can be kept in the freezer, so it is ready to make it whenever you want.

Have not had a chance to use the culture but it is in my freezer as instructed by the seller. The packets were sent directly from the company and arrived three days after I ordered it. They do not want their product sitting a an Amazon warehouse because they want to ensure the consumer receives a fresh and quality product. Their website indicates they want their product to get to the customer quickly and they fulfilled that goal. Looking forward to making my first batch.
Super product!

Makes a delicious crème fraiche at a small fraction of the ridiculous supermarket price. Keeps at least 3weeks in the refrigerator.
I make one batch using one quart of heavy cream plus one pint of whole milk. Many uses-serve with desserts, making Mac & cheese, baking bread, muffins, etc, cream soups. Make a batch and start experimenting!

Don't let a loosely fermented product fool you

I discovered my creme fraiche packets in the mailbox which was concerning since the packets clearly state they should be frozen. Nevertheless, I attempted to make creme fraiche. I didn't quite follow the directions, I used heavy cream and I believe the directions called for half and half or cream as a base. It let it sit for a couple of days and thought the cream and cultures didn't ferment. I put it in the fridge anyway, and the next day, I had thick cream fraiche! I will buy this again because the taste is different than what you would get if you mixed buttermilk with the heavy cream.
