I shovel, I shovel well now.
Andrew Isaacs•January 5, 2018
Great for shoveling when I'm out metal detecting. You'll need it too. Once the ladies see a 46 year old man out metal detecting, it's sturdy construction comes in handy for beating them back. I engraved "MARRIED! BACK OFF!" On the reverse side of the shovel. You're going to need that.
The Serrated Blade on this shovel is a joke

Save yourself $20 and get the version of this shovel without the Serrated Blade. The Serrated Blade on this shovel is a joke.
I had such high hopes based on the reviews but reality hit when I opened the box. So disappointing. "Aircraft quality materials"? I'm sure there is some cheap steel somewhere on an aircraft.

Good shovel but.....

The shovel works fine but I wish I'd found one with a cross bar above the shovel part to make it easier to push in the ground--a wider place to put my foot. But it's a good shovel.
Lesche tool are made for metal detecting.

This handy little shovel cuts the neatest plugs you have ever seen...and...it was made by people who understand exactly what people in metal detecting want...NOT a made-over post hole digger or a garden tool on a stick. It costs more, but will last you a life-time, do a great job and never let you down.
Perfect for Metal-Detecting

Awesome little spade that I've used primarily in my metal-detecting hobby. Tough enough to saw through roots and light enough to tote all day while swinging a detector. I'm using this primarily in a heavily rooted and rocky area and have had no problems cutting out plugs with relative ease and haven't given a second thought to the larger shovel I keep in my truck. It is short, but that also makes it very maneuverable and easy to use when kneeling. Would replace it immediately if lost or stolen, and haven't run into anything yet that would make me think it will break!
NOTE: ** This is an ALL metal spade ** -- i.e., use caution around buried power lines -- and as other posters here have noted it would also serve well as an emergency self-defense instrument.
