It seemed like it was missing something

Didn't work. It seemed like it was missing something. I put a battery in it and it didn't amplify the sound on my phone. The red light came on and went off. There was no difference between having it connected and my original phone line.
Easy to Use and Install

Put this on my phone at work. It does help me hear better. However sometimes people on the other end of my call say they are hearing some static. Occasionally it sounds that way on my end too but that is usually when I am talking to someone on a cellphone. It does help me to not have to ask people to repeat themselves as much.

I bought this because my parents' voices have gotten softer as they've aged and I was having a great deal of trouble hearing them. Now, whenever we talk, I use the phone with the amplifier and adjust the volume as needed. There is a certain amount of static, particularly at the highest settings and I find it helpful to periodically switch the phone from one ear to the other (because it can sound like someone is speaking loudly into your ear); but it's worth it to be able to carry on a conversation again. This amplifier has been wonderful! I definitely recommend it.

I'm really happy with the Serene Innovations UA-45 Universal Phone Amplifier. I tried a less expensive model that worked ok, but it went through batteries much too quickly and didn't have a power input for an adapter. It also had a loud feedback squeal every time I hung up the phone. I use this on my work phone and spend a lot of time on it, so I prefer to have an adapter rather than batteries. This one also had no feedback or any other problems. It has a simple to use volume control, and as long as you follow the directions to set it up correctly for your phone, you shouldn't have any problems.

This works better than I could of imaged. It has helped me a great deal with phone calls at work for those "low talkers". It was a great buy for the money. Very easy to hook up to the phone. I would highly recommend this item.
