old stock, corroded battery, scratched used.
Need one that i can hear all words pronounced.

Wish I would have sent it back. It doesn't fit me. My phone does so much more. But I think I needed to within a month. Will call and see if I can return it. I need to hear words pronounced, it does not pronounce all words. Also I thought a person could speak into a electronic dictionary to see spelling and hear how to pronounce but not this one anyway. This is the first one I have ever had and paid a lot for it. Never buy another electronic dictionary again. Unless It pronounces all the words and can speak into it. I don't care for the features. Not very helpful for me. I pray I can get credit or get my money back. If looking just for difinitions guess it would be ok. I thought there would be more to it. Nice little compact case and window though. Would be perfect if had features I personally needed.

Can be complicated to maneuver. It's better than nothing. When I type a word in English, it gives me Spanish translation however when I hit the speaker button, it pronounces the English word. I need the Spanish word pronounced. Currency converter is difficult to use. I just want dollars to pesos and vice versa. I have to up arrow and down arrow through other currencies to figure amounts out.

My wife and I have been trying to learn Spanish and as we both have October birthdays we decided to buy each other one of the 2170's for our birthdays. We were very excited when they arrived. I put brand new batteries in one and it did not work, tried the other one with brand new batteries and it did not work either. Both were dud's. I called Amazon and they were very helpful. Gave me Franklin Electronics number to call for help to see if they could help me. I call and was told to leave a number and I would be called back in 24 hours. Which that alone was not good customer service, I left my number, it has been 4 days and they have not called back. I shipped the two 2170's back and Amazon has already given me credit on my credit card. Amazon has been great to work with but these two machines stink.

Franklin BES-2170 arrived on time as scheduled.
Franklin BES-2170 Spanish-English Dictionary Arrived on time. Took it on a trip to Costa Rica and it worked perfectly. I speak some Spanish, but my vocabulary is somewhat weak. I used the Franklin when I needed a word or wanted the proper verb conjugation.
It's quick response and portability allowed me to use it everywhere and vastly improved my communication in Spanish.
