I bought this to save my time on searching for a word on my cell phone or laptop, while reading an English book. English is my second language, so this scanner really saved me a lot of time. The translation between English, Japanese and Chinese can be done offline on this device.
You can also just use the dictionary function, instead of asking it to translate by sentence.
The only thing I hope it can improve in the future is that the scanner can be more accurate on the text location. For example, when I plan to scan from the first word of a sentence, it usually starts scanning from the last word in the last sentence. Fortunately, this problem doesn't affect the translation overall.
