but I was so disappointed in these
Halloween Queen•November 1, 2016
I rarely write negative reviews, but I was so disappointed in these. They arrived (via Amazon Prime) in very sad shape. Almost every single piece had a chalky/powdery-white discoloration (referred to as 'bloom'), were crumbly, and the ones that weren't were almost to that point. They may have come in contact with moisture, or weren't stored in the warehouse properly by either the distributor or the shipping service. I'm trusting that the warehouse/shipping clerk didn't ship them out in this condition knowingly, as that would be bad customer service. I'd never let a batch like this go out to a customer. In one of the 2 photos I've posted, you can see what a package of quality chocolate cherries are supposed to look like. I tried a couple of these - they tasted a bit old, dried out, and just crumbled apart. They went in the garbage...I won't be ordering these again.
Just okay

They're just ok. When I read they were Sconza brand, I decided to take the plunge. I buy smaller bags of Sconza cherries at Raleys; they are big and yummy. I was expecting the same from Amazon. They aren't. They are as big as my thumbnail and melted all together. The flavor is ok, and the cherries are soft and easy to eat.
They are ok if you want to take the gamble...

I have been super sad since our Trader Joe stores stopped selling tubs of chocolate covered cherries like this. I saw these as an affordable substitute and thought I'd give it a try. While I do like them, they are a lot sweeter than the other brand I loved from TJ's and every once in a while, one of the candy cherry pieces will have a flavor reminiscent to the smell of dryer sheets. I know how that sounds, and when my youngest daughter first told me that after eating one I told her she was obviously ingesting it incorrectly and should leave the rest for me! However, after experiencing it twice now myself, I had to apologize to her and am somewhat reluctant to try any more. The non-detergent flavored cherries, while a tad too sweet, are tasty, but it's a gamble I'm not sure I want to take.

I love Harry and David cherries and hoped these would be as good, but was suspicious because they were a lot less expensive. They are terrible! I ate one and gave them away as they were the worst I ever ate. I was away for a vacation and when I got back I asked for a refund. They refused. The amount of time should not matter, they should have refunded the cost for these inferior candies.Trust me,these are the worst on the market. Stick with the major brands!
... these multiple times in the past and always had good luck in shipping

I've ordered these multiple times in the past and always had good luck in shipping. Not so this time around. Previous sellers had this wrapped in dry ice insulation to protect the product from the Texas heat. We happened to be having temps in the 90s this year in October and the cherries weren't in anything but a plastic bag. I received a giant melty mess. I had to immediately stick them in the freezer and then break off sections when I wanted one. Not ideal but it worked. I will hesitate to buy these again unless temps are cooler. Overall, taste was great, presentation, not so much.
