Great product for eliminating buttercup and other invasive plants - use exactly as stated in the instructions
pacaBill•September 4, 2017
This is a great product for taking care of very stubborn and invasive plants, such as buttercup. One of my pastures was being overrun with buttercup, to the point where individual plant pulling was out of the question. Other weed killers are either broad-spectrum, or have some nasty side affects on pasture use. This product is quite selective, and it is pasture safe for browsing after application. I did allow a week following application before putting livestock back on the pasture. READ and FOLLOW the instructions to the T - application rate is very specific, and is based on ounces per acre, not ounces per gallon. Take your time, and use a syringe for proper dosage. Two months after application, the buttercup is completely gone, and the orchard grasses have recovered fully in that pasture. Do take note of restrictions on use of animal waste for fertilizer after browsing on a treated pasture.
Milestone Works GREAT on Lawns! Kills Canadian Thistle and Dandelions!
Eric Schulz•July 22, 2017
This is the greatest product ever! I bought it to use on my lawn. I was a bit scared of it since it's really only supposed to be used for agricultural uses, but I had a whole bunch of Canadian Thistle spreading and multiplying and had no way to kill it. Roundup only wounds Canadian Thistle, but this stuff kills it dead!
I used one of those hand pump sprayers that I bought at Home Depot, filled it with a gallon of water, and added in one ounce of Milestone. Then I walked my yard spraying it evenly across the entire lawn and maming sure I got every weed wet. It took about 6 gallons (which is 6 ounces of Ilestone) to do my half acre yard.
I applied it 12 days ago, and all the Canadian Thistle, dandelion and other broadleaf weeds that were in my yard are GONE! It didn't harm the grass at all. My yard looks fantastic, and for the first time in three years I don't have any Thistle in my yard. Just be careful around your trees and flowers. I kept about a three foot diameter away from all my trees, and made sure that when I was near my flowerbeds I was really careful not to let any spray go near them. Make sure there isn't any wind when you spray so that the mist doesn't blow onto your plants or trees.
The bottle of Milestone is expensive at $100, but I still have plenty left to do a second or third treatmemt down the road, so I figure it really only cost me about $30 do cover my yard. That's cheaper than trying to do weed n feed (which wouldn't have done anything to kill the Thistle).
Don't be afraid to use it on your lawn. It works GREAT!

really works on buttercups expensive but worth it

This worked great on our pasture to kill the dandelions but after the first crop died another came up. The dandelions, over the years, have taken over our pasture and we should have started using this 5 years ago and done it every spring for better results. I think there are too many now for this to get rid of them completely. Used it around the outside of our detached garage and motorhome where we get many types of weeds and it worked well.
Safe and effective

Highly effective on my Spotted Knapweed infestation. I've eliminated it.
