Dont buy this unless you want to be the guy outside cursing at an electrical box like a mad man
Dr. Swanson•August 29, 2017
worst timer I ever had- way to make setting the time and options nearly impossible- or utterly the opposite if intuitive. Whoever designed this really screwed up when it came to the buttons and method of setting the timer and time. It looks just like the picture---set to 12:00 and impossible to change without wanting to chuck it at a wall or go entirely Office-Space on this thing. 6 buttons and none of them seem to be a obviously simple as anyone would need it to be. Buttons for day, time, and set- this thing over complicates the entire concept of a timer...I thought we as a people figured out the complexity of automatic timers...well these developers are still figuring it out.
I expected for the price that this was quality and I kid you not I have never begrudged a piece of technology in my life before this. Dont buy it.

Very pleased with this timer

I am very pleased with this timer, and it is much better than what I had previously. I have a small fountain in my garden, and because it is used constantly by the numerous birds in my yard I need a timer so that it comes on as soon as it is light in the morning and shuts off at dark in the evening. The first timer I purchased didn't even last a year before it started constantly tripping GFI.
This Woods timer has a much better cover to keep the rain out, the programming feature is more flexible for those who might need/want more timing options (I just have it on and off at the same times, 7 days a week).
We'll see if it holds out, but so far it's working great.

Best timer I've owned

Using this with my salt water generator to work with the timer on my pool pump and it is great. It has a lot of timing scenarios so setting it up takes care but once you get it set, no problem. The battery backup is great because you don't have to reset it if you lose power. It is out in the weather but so far has battled the elements without a hitch.
I wish they offered one that only had one or two timing cycles instead of large number this has. When you set it up you have to cycle through every timing cycle even if you are doing only one, as I did.
Been using it about a month now and found it to be set and forget.

Best Timer

Best timer I've found. Suggestion, get a short extension cord and mount this timer up at eye level (All timers seem to come with this silly little short cord). That way when you want to override the timer functions or make changes to your settings your not on your knees in the ice, snow, rain, mud, wind, cold, or whatever (I live in Alaska) trying to remember how this timer works. Even better suggestion, get a longer cord and mount timer indoors at eye level, then run a cord out to your Xmas lights (Careful to protect your cord from damage). I keep the instructions tucked inside the timer for easy reference. Timer has the ability to manually turn on your Xmas lights at any time but it can get a little confusing. I also use this for an engine heater on my truck and it is hard to know when its actually on because there are no lights to see. I've added some lighted plug in adapters to the truck so I know if its on. If I used this timer every day I would learn the functions, however days or weeks can pass between uses. I will buy again.
Best I have found, far better than a mechanical timer

I use these in conjunction with the light sensors built into my landscape controller. By combining the two I can have the landscape come on at dusk and forced off at a given time. (midnight) Then they come on at a given time, (4 AM), and off at sunrise.
I have used mechanical timers before now and these are far superior.
Pros:
Easy to program. Dead easy!
Multiple On Off programs if you want them
Water resistant design
Fairly high wattage capable
The big one for me, BUILT IN BATTERY BACKUP for when the power goes out. I no longer have to run around resetting timers.
One button to switch back and forth from standard to daylight savings.
Green color blends into landscape very well.
Cons: Honestly I haven't found any yet
