Had a quirky accident with my rope/ratchet setup when loading my kayak and canoe this past summer resulting in the ratchet breaking. Given how it happened, it was not because the ratchet was flimsy/faulty, etc. The circumstances caused the inevitable. Bought this to replace it....great product. Learned from the accident and it won't happen again! ;-) This will therefore be like my other one and last many years.
