Heavy duty, good seal...more of a floodlight than spotlight.
PaulS✓ Verified PurchaseAugust 29, 2016
Got these to light up a small sculpture in my front yard. Very nice quality and seems to be heavy duty. Packaging was nice and no damage to the contents. Black finish on it is high quality and should last and hold the color for a long period of time. So far (4 months) it has held up well to the elements...daily sunshine/daily watering. No fogging or condensation in the lenses yet. Metal spike went into the ground easily...just make sure you do it without the light attached. Connector worked great. I used it about 15' from my sculpture and wish it had a tighter beam. Not sure I would classify this as a spotlight...maybe more as a floodlight. It was very bright considering the distance I was using it for.

Pros:
Decent price
Heavy duty construction
Very bright
No fogging/condensation

Cons:
For a spotlight, I think the beam should have been tighter
Specialty bulb

I will update this review as time goes on, but so far it has held up great.
Easy to install with simple lock-in wire clasps
Xavier Villarreal✓ Verified PurchaseAugust 18, 2016
Just installed 6 of these. Seemingly very durable construction (time will tell). Easy to install with simple lock-in wire clasps. Screws and clasps are durable (my drill bit wanted to strip them, but they did not strip). Instructions were easy to read as well. Installed lights 4' apart and it seems to perfect for the area I have. Took all of 30 mins to install all 6.

One light did not work, however I'm expecting a replacement in 2 days. It happens.

This system is just great. Most of my happiness is do to me thinking I would spend all day putting up lights in January. I was done in 45 minutes. Just do this and piggyback onto the 2 hours of online research I did while looking for landscape lighting.

Buy this power pack. It plugs into an outdoor outlet and mounts on the side of the house.

Put these on big things. Like the corners of your house or any line that runs from the ground to the roof.

I just ran the cable in a long line, but if you wanted to branch off and put stuff further away from the house, use these connectors + cable.

Good luck Amazoners!
Small, bright and heavy
Sierra Tim✓ Verified PurchaseOctober 27, 2015
Surprisingly heavy for its smallish size. Good more or less natural coloring. I replaced the included MR16 halogen lamp with a low cost 4W led equivalent. It puts out a lot of light for just a small bit of power. This will work well as a replacement for the broken fixture at the base of our timer address post.
Great light, more white then warm

Our property has over 30 standard 20 watt Malibu garden lights and that really adds up wattage wise. We decided to give these LED garden lights a try as they are only 1 watt each. I bought just one set to start and they arrived promptly. They were very easy to install and the "box clip" system they attach to the low voltage wire is much more sturdy and professional then the "push-in" system we had with the Malibu lights.

I wrote this review more specifically to address the color temperature of the lights. I saw a lot of people asking where they fall in the spectrum with no answers. Being a professional photographer I can tell you that they are closer to daylight balanced then incandescent, I'm guessing somewhere around 52000k. So not as blue/white as 5600k, but not as warm as 3600k. If your a non techie reading this, it just means it's more of a white light then yellow. If you desire a very warm color light, you might have to go with a more traditional non LED bulb or choose a different brand. This is not to say the light is unpleasing, quite the opposite actually it's got a very nice quality to it, it's just not very warm.

Now to the output... It's pretty darn good for a 1watt light! The specs didn't say what the lumen output was, but it's very comparable to our 20 watt Malibu lights in terms of brightness and lights up the plants to my satisfaction. Overall I will be buying more of these to replace all my existing garden lights.
