â¤ï¸ðŸžThis BREAD makes our home warm!!!
Marine Mom!! Stacey M. Charlotte, NC✓ Verified Purchase•August 2, 2023
Any one with Celiac's disease or gluten intolerance knows how hard it is to find good bread. Well your search is over. I feel in love with the sour dough bread after ordering it for our son who came home from combat as a disabled retired Marine. If your loved one suffers from CD you know how heart warming it is to see that BIG SMILE & hear those YUMMY sounds coming from a happy mouth. EVERYTHING is delicious - seriously!! Especially the tortillas & sour dough bread & the products last. The deserts are to die for but they are higher in sugar so we don't order these until a special occasion. Try the cookies if your torn on what to order. All the bread products are GREAT & extremely filling. It reminds me of GF bread we ate when we traveled through Spain.
If you want to know more about this company & if you can trust the product from cross contamination then watch the YouTube video on the owners story it will speak to your heart & give you the reassurance CD customers need.
We are forever grateful to the Lawson family, especially during this crazy Covid19 time.
Thank you SO MUCH for putting a BIG SMILE on our son's face (now our entire family) & making this moms heart so full.
We love your family & your products!

Quality gluten free bread

I have tried quite a few gluten free breads. BUT! I totally miss sourdough. It's a thing for some of us to crave sour things.
I've only tried 2 "sourdough " gluten free brands and one actually tasted a bit like sourdough.
New Grains is a tasty quality bread, but it's not sourdough. No sour taste at all. The other brand that tastes sour is $10 a small loaf at Whole Foods. ( I'd buy that in bulk to get a discount. )
New Grains is very moist and unless you eat 2 loaves in a week, freeze one.
They say 3 weeks in fridge, but I wouldn't trust that. Mine developed pink spots within 10 days in the fridge. I contacted the company, but it's not an ingredient, and they said it was nearing the end of it's lifespan. So 10 days tops in the fridge.
So, good bread, but beware of it going bad. Maybe keep it constantly in the freezer...to protect your $25 bread investment.
I don't know about you, but I can't afford to throw that out...

Like my Celiac grandpa's homemade rice bread. Makes great toast - use highest setting until golden brown
Yes it's expensive, but REALLY good!

It's funny, when I was reading the reviews for this product before I bought it, several people talked about how expensive it was and I was puzzled -- the price really isn't much more than we pay for a "normal" (not GF) loaf of good sourdough. Well, I hadn't yet noticed that it is NOT eligible for Prime free shipping, and the shipping costs more than the bread, thus, indeed, making it a very expensive loaf of bread. BUT, I decided to give it a try and am so glad I did. Just ordered another loaf!
Of course it's not *exactly* like regular sourdough bread -- let's face it, NO gluten free bread is *quite* as good as regular since the gluten is the very thing that basically makes bread be bread. ;-) But this is very good and especially good if toasted or grilled (although I made a cold turkey and brie sandwich with it, too, that was quite good). Makes fabulous french toast, grilled sandwiches, etc. and for someone who needs to be GF, it's really wonderful to be able to eat somewhat "normally" for those things.
Someone in another review had suggested separating the slices with parchment (or wax paper) and freezing the loaf, then you can just pull off the slice or two that you need and I think that's a great idea. For this first loaf I was really "experimenting" (and one day was out of other bread so used it for my non-GF husband, too) so I didn't need to freeze it. It stayed plenty fresh in the fridge for the length of time it took me to use it up. But I might do that for this next loaf in order to stretch it out longer, given the cost.
All in all, definitely recommend!!

Tasty Gluten Free Sourdough

Haven't had sourdough in decades! This was good for gluten free. Toasted pre-sliced pieces and they didn't crumble and fall apart. Also used for open faced sandwich. Price causes me to save purchase for special treat. So good!
