If you want to reduce maintenance on your canisters then consider adding this prefilter. Works wonders and you'd be amazed how much doesnt get in your filter extending time between filter maintenance. I rinse mine weekly

Really expensive for what it is but, a great way to extend the amount of time you have to open up your canister. These catch a ton of grime and are easy to rinse and put right back.

This is a great pre-filter. It is kinda huge but you can split it up if you want. Have them in both of my tanks and they do a great job. Even for a HOB, with a little effort, they fit and do a great job in precleaning the water.
