I bought these for my 3 and 4 year old. I agonized for quite some time over whether they were too young for this size. However, I didn't want to waste the money on the micro mini, if they would outgrow them soon. Anyway, I purchase two of these, and they fit perfectly on the lowest handlebar setting. The kids have picked up riding them super fast. One negative I say on other scooters was the steering. The steering is perfect on these and the kids pick it up right away. This is a great product and appears to be put together with top notch parts.

Best scooter for 5-9 year old kids. Both my boys have one and use it everyday. Quite resistant to rough boys! And it is relatively cheap to order a spare part or accessories from Micro. I love that it does not hurt my ankles like Razors. And it is easier on kids who have more trouble with balance. I wish I had ordered this very model (marketed as "for 5+ kids) when my kid was 2 as it is just the same proportion as the kiddie Micro model with no adjustable "wheel". My kid would have grown with it. Now he outgrew his kiddie Micro and we have to purchase this older kid model. But it would have been just fine for a 2 year old.

Bought the mini for my 2 year old son and he used it daily for 2 years. We decided to get the maxi for him for christmas and it is such an amazing scooter. It is bigger and heavier than the mini, so he can safely go faster and break easier now. We love this brand, great customer service and a great product!! Def buy for your children if they love to be outside. We travel with this scooter, take it everywhere w us. We love that the bar adjust on the maxi so it will grow with him! We converted the mini to the sit bar and his little sister plays on it now. Even thinking about buying my husband the full size scooter so he can play too.

Good quality scooter. The metal part on the back where the brake is vibrates and causes noises. It doesn't take away from the brakes functionality, it just bothers me (my son and husband claimed to not notice until I brought it to their attention). To turn the scooter, you lean the handles to the side in the direction you want to go. It doesn't make sharp turns, but I'm actually ok with that because it decreases the possibility of the scooter destabilizing when the wheel turns 90 degrees like on some other scooters (or wagons). We got this for my son when he was 3 and he rode it very well then. I don't let him ride on our sidewalk because we have places that where the sidewalk slabs meet that are not at all flush with each other and I'm afraid with the small wheels of the scooter, he'll go over the big bumps and the wheels will catch on the bump and he'll go flying off. So, instead, we go to a park where the walk path is very smooth. It's great that the front has 2 wheels instead of the back, so when when he kicks, he's not kicking a wheel.

I purchased two of these for my 4.5 year old nephews for Christmas. I went back and forth between this and the Mini Maxi, since they're just below the recommended age for this one and not terribly coordinated and I was worried they would not pick this model up as easily as the smaller one. They are tall for their age though, and I couldn't find much info on the best choice for these in this situation, so I ultimately decided on this one because the handle was adjustable and they could grow with it. I needn't have worried, they both hopped right on these (with their new dinosaur helmets, of course) and took off. These were fun right out of the box! They quickly learned how to move forward on them, though they are still figuring out how to steer, they struggle with corners and "drifting" into the grass off the sidewalk, but can follow a curving path with no problems. They have bikes and power wheels that both steer like a car and have mostly figured those out, but I like that this one requires them to lean into it because they're can't jackknife these when they get distracted (as 4 year olds do). The scooter is light enough that they can easily maneuvered it on their own, so they just pick it up and change direction when needed and this doesn't seem to bother them or slow them down. After they'd gotten comfortable riding the scooters, I showed them how to work the brake, which they picked up immediately. On the few times that they've lost control of the scooter, they've intuitively hopped off rather than fall with it. They love riding their scooters, and I credit the fabulous design of this model.
