This really does show the puddle a little better. However, the frequency of the arc has a lot to do with how well any lens shows the puddle. I have a auto dark helmet, as well, but I couldn't get the puddle clear enough for me. This is a good product that is made of glass. The gold really works. However, I have to still play with the settings on my Flux core inverter welder to dial both the lens and my welder in. I'm satisfied with my purchase.

11shade is the perfect medium for most welding applications.
Careful though. The edges are razor sharp.
Take a Emory file to the edges. Or just be a man.

For the price, it's insanely clear and beautiful to look through. If you're tired of looking through your current lens and just immediately being transported to Breaking Bad's rendition of "the entire country of Mexico", consider buying this just for the color change - seafoam green is better than yellow/orangeish green.
