A decent option for domestic long distance - here are the details
ideasJuly 31, 2017
The best way to get long distance service is to get it free with a cell phone, but these cards are a decent option if you have a unique situation and must pay for it. The only downside is that it can be a little hard to find the particulars of rates. AT&T says that in-state calls and calls from cell phones are billed at a higher rate (so you would get far less than the number of minutes purchased), but I believe that has now changed. I've placed both in-state calls and calls from cell phones, and both have billed at the normal rate of 1 calling card minute per 1 actual minute of talk. AT&T likely does still surcharge heavily for pay phone calls. To the extent that pay phone calls still exist, I'd try to avoid them. These cards can be recharged at a current rate of about 2.8 cents per minute, with a minimum refill of around $20. That's a good feature. The balance on your card will expire one year after the last use, so be sure to make a call occasionally to keep your card active. I've not used the card yet for international calls, but other reviewers have addressed this issue.

Based on my usage so far, I recommend this card.
