We're advanced senior citizens and we live way, waaayyyyy, off-grid and were using 5-gal buckets with toilet seats before ordering this great product. This is FABULOUS - only wish we had ordered it a year earlier!
It was a breeze to assemble and there REALLY is NO ODOR. They are a regular commode height and we're ordering a second one for our other cabin.
We use 8 oz of the liquid Thetford 28614 Aqua-Kem Holding Tank Treatment - 1 Gallon with it. We purchased the Porta Potti Curve in August and still have over 1/2 gallon of the tank treatment.
We DO NOT use the toilet paper holder as we prefer a standing holder.
For 2 people, we, well my husband, empties it about once every week and a half.
GO FOR IT - it's Grrrrrrrreat!

Best porta pottie!
Jesse M.•June 16, 2017
This is the third ports pottie I have owned. The first two came with campers I bought and were not used very much. I bought this one for camping, but we have used it mostly for our 4-year-old to use while our bathroom is being remodeled. The other bathroom was far enough away from her bedroom that she was having accidents. She absolutely loves having her very own potty. The only problem I have had is when she forgets to flush... A little pee will seep out between the top and bottom halves.
Emptying and cleaning is the same as the other units I have owned, which were both smaller Thetford models. This one has electric rinse, which is nice. However, the best feature of the Curve is the seat height and the oval shape. It is more like using a home toilet than any other porta pottie. The down side is that it won't fit in the cabinet in my pop up camper. We carry it in the van, and then use it in a pop up cabana, which is better than stinking up the camper, anyway.

Perfect for a pregnant woman while camping
Joshua•October 3, 2016
This is my first Porta Potti experience and I am happy I got it! My wife is half way through her pregnancy and it saved her many dark night trips to the public bathroom while camping. This was her second experience with a porta potti and said that this one is the "Gold Standard" of porta pottis.
Notes:
* Based on other peoples reviews, its possible the frustrated ones didn't read the manual fully. The manual is your friend!
* It comes with a small supply of Deodorant/Waste Digestion (enough for 4 complete 5-gallon uses/refills)
* The waste cap also doubles as a measuring cup to use for measuring the waste dissolver liquid.
* The "Automatic Flush" feature only rinses out the tank, it doesn't open the valve to drop the waste into the holding tank.
* To go pee, Close seat, Open waste valve, press rinse button. If doing number 2, press the rinse button once or twice to fill the bowl with a little water, this will help reduce the solids from leaving streaks in the bowl.
* Recommend dumping waste in a public outhouse vs at home. This will help reduce possible splash-back in the toilet at home.
Pros:
* Comes with everything in the box (Except water and toilet paper). It includes batteries, measuring cup, waste digestion/deodorant liquid, toilet paper holder.
* Standard toilet height making it feel like one is at home
* Cleanup is really straight forward
* Comes with a built-in toilet paper holder (works with Charmin "double rolls", but not "mega" rolls
* Battery operated water rinse feature - very quiet and effective.
* Works great for 5' or 6"3" people
Cons:
* Unlike a regular toilet, the sitting stance for a tall person is a little awkward since one cannot tuck their feet under the toilet. That being said, the height helps reduce that awkwardness considerably from smaller porta potties.
* The "automatic flush" feature should have been called "automatic rinse" since you still have to manually open the waste valve.
Conclusion:
*Great toilet if you are willing to spend some good money for the "gold standard" of porta potties. Your pregnant wife will love you especially while camping, or even if you have a house and the regular toilet is awkwardly located on the other side of the house.
This was purchased with my own money, no discounts other that Amazons decent prices and prime shipping.

Good Portable Toilet
Dayner•February 4, 2016
Received promptly. Unbox all parts there. Installed and in use and works fine. Ordered because of height/size improvement over what I have now. One point, it is taller and narrower at the base than most units and as such is a little "tippy" side to side. Installed in a Class B van and held in place so no problem, just noticed when the top section is filled and the lower section is empty it is definitely top heavy and "tippy'. Also in response to folks that have expressed problem with electric flush pump failure, I also ordered the manual flush pump (from England, not available in US), have not installed it yet, but will since the electric pump just seems to be overkill "tech for the sake of tech" and thus just something else to go wrong. Part number is Thetford 92401111 Piston Pump 111, photos attached
Totally satisfied with this purchase!

We bought this to use during the cold season when the water to our cabin is turned off. We have experience with RV toilets so our expectations weren't too high. The seat height is the same as our conventional toilet and is comfortable. The flush is adequate but we use water from a jug for the big jobs. The holding tank is easy to empty into our underground waste holding tank. It sure beats driving to the camp bathroom!
