Great for display - not for painting heavier cnavas'
Sonya Paz✓ Verified Purchase•January 13, 2018
This easel is OK.... the telescopic legs are great, however the portion where the artwork is to be displayed is off a bit, it's too vertical and the tray to hold the artwork is flimsy, so you need to counter balance the legs to accommodate. This is intended for display of light weight canvas ONLY, this is exactly what I needed it for, to display foam core sign at a business. This is not intended to actually paint on or for heavier canvas'.
Otherwise it's good and a decent purchase.

leg locks hold well to keep height without sliding down. If you put a heavy framed object on it the legs will spread apart and it falls. Ended up making a metal like beam that connects the single rear leg to the front cross beam and holds the legs from spreading and no more falling over. Good price.
Lightweight mean lightweight..

This easel is lightweight and was sturdy enough to make it through the baggage check and everything else at the airport both to and from the destination, get used at the trade show for a week, and make it back to the office in one piece, no damage, and still get used for events a year later.
The downside... It's lightweight, so if there is a lot of traffic, or you think it may need to be near a breezy area, find some way to weight it down. That also means that if you have something fairly tall that you are putting on it, it may tip over.
Other than those small issues, though, this is a very nice easel.

if you are expecting a very sturdy, well-made product

OK, if you are expecting a very sturdy, well-made product, this is not it. It is flimsy and not very well made, HOWEVER, it's very inexpensive. I purchased two of them and would have given it 4 stores but one of the feet had snapped off of one while it was still in the original package. Additionally, the metal bar that holds your poster/picture/artwork on the other was bent, however, because it's so flimsy, it was easily bent back into position. Since I was not supporting anything heavy, these easels fit my needs. I would not recommend them to anyone that needs to display outside as they are easily blown over. If your needs are to display some large, lightweight, posters inside, as I did, these work perfectly!
Useable, but flimsy

First off, it comes with no instructions which isn't a major problem, but it did take several tries to figure out where the tray fastened? There is a sliding ring on two of the legs that you slide up or down to adjust the height - each with a pin that the tray slides over to hold it in place. When fully extended the legs take up a triangular space about 3'x3'x3' and when you place a medium weight item on it all the legs begin to bow - thus the flimsy comment. Don't expect it to take much pushing or shoving around. To top it off, the bag that holds it came cut on the bottom such that it is basically unuseable.
