Giving it 4 stars as today was my first day trying the peel and will reevaluate in a couple of days. I have an over production of a hormone called dihydrotestostorone. This has caused my forehead to be covered with acne and have mild seborrheic dermatitis. I am sure of the cause of the overproduction; stress and eating habits. Anywho, I am naturally decreasing the hormone with saw palmetto and Young Living's Progressence Plus serum. I haven't had any new acne show up but have lots of hyperpigmentation, scarring, and stubborn under the skin pimples/blackheads that never seem to go away. I applied a thin layer of the acid peel to my clean face. Didn't feel much going on so I applied some more. I began to feel some tingling around the cheek area. Two minutes passed and I began to wash with really cold water. When the water came in contact with my skin, I began to actually feel some "burning" but completely bareable. Rinsed off real well, applied some of YL's serum along with some emu oil(helps lower DHT). I am REALLY hoping this helps. I've done needle rolling multiple times and used some vitamin C serum. Not much success with either.

Does exactly what it's supposed to, peels my skin but not to the point where I'm red and raw and can't be seen in public. But heed warning and DO NOT use on any broken skin (i.e: freshly popped pimples) as it REALLY peels them heavily & burns a lot. Follow directions and increase application by about 1min each time and it will remove dead skin without much irritation and will really improve clarity.

I have used this peel once so far and I can tell I love it. I purchased this in combination with the pre-peel cleanser from the same company, in hopes of diminishing little bumps on my face and it's already shown huge improvement . I have been searching for years for this

Unlike most of the reviewers here I am just a regular person who purchased this product at full price. I am updating the review over time.

I am a 35 year old caucasian female. I have oily, congested, bumpy skin with lots of clogged pores and mild acne along with leftover red marks. My cheeks are my biggest problem area; tons of white bumps and blackheads. I've had acne and comedones for 25 years (ugh). I don't have age related issues like wrinkling or discoloration nor do I have sun damage. I had never used a peel before.

I wash my face with Purpose and use an alcohol prep pad as suggested in the instructions to remove all oil and allow good penetration. I apply it with a fan brush and use 3-5 layers of product.

The first time I used it the burning became unbearable at one minute but the second time I tolerated three minutes quite well. After rinsing with cool water the pain and redness were gone within five minutes.

After one use I have not noticed a difference yet. There was mild flaking around my nose and chin on day two.

Update 1: The day after my second use my skin has DRAMATICALLY improved. Oh my gosh! The blackheads and bumps all over my cheeks are just about totally gone. Unreal! There is mild flaking around my chin and nose. Haven't noticed an initial breakout. My old red acne marks are unchanged. I am ridiculously happy with the results so far and will update after my third peel.

Update 2: I ill-advisedly did a third peel less than a week after my second. I wouldn't recommend doing that. It wasn't a disaster, but there was significant burning, redness and bad peeling on my inner cheeks, lower forehead, and chin for about 3-4 days. The peeling has subsided now, though, and my skin continues to look incredible. I wish someone had told me about peels a decade ago. A month ago my cheeks were covered in bumps and blackheads and they're almost totally clear now. I wish I'd taken before and after pictures (you should do that!).

Update 3: I did a fourth peel a week after my last. I used only one layer on the sensitive areas that peeled badly last week, and 4 layers on the rest of my face. My face looks amazing.

I should note that the peel has NOT noticeably improved my old red marks and light acne scarring, just the clogged pores.

Final Update: I probably got about 6 total peels out of the bottle. My last peel was about 4 months ago as of this writing, and my skin remains far, far less bumpy and congested than it was before I did them. I assume my face will clog up again over time but I will know what product to use to clear it up!

It really works but it is STRONG! Don't use it if you don't know what you're doing (you WILL burn and scar your skin, I did thi because I was overzealous and used it too frequently), and don't keep it on too long!
