Awesome for my Samsung slate pc. I have this clamped to a bedside hospital table and pushing the table through the house to clean table, this arm remains in the position you put it in. Adjusters require very little pressure to tighten the joints firmly in place. High quality, precision machined joints and the holder (for the slate pc) leave no doubt that it's secure and your pc won't fall out

Awesome stand! Sturdy and well made. Plastic head joint, right behind the holding plate wobbles as noted by a few people. Rubber o-ring solves it. Such a minor thing that I couldn't see knocking off any stars. Arkon, should look at this and place an o-ring inside.

Stand is very well made, nice and clean, and very good looking. All metal joints and hardware, except the holding plate and plastic interface (where I had to install the o-ring). Joints appear strong but you still have to tighten quite a bit to hold the weight of a tablet, but having done so, it does the job well.

At this point in time, I have no qualms about recommending this stand and I would buy it again if I ever needed another one.

EDIT........ Well, I have to change this review from 5 to 3 stars. The upper adjustable handle clamp stripped in less than a week of use. At first it was great, but now, not so great. The clamp threads are aluminum, while the bolt is steel. Due to the weight of a tablet, you need to tighten the clamp a lot in order to alleviate sagging/moving. Will have to contact the manufacture to see what remedy they can supply, if any. It's a sad case because the design and build (less the clamps) is very nice. Will update again after contacting the manufacture.

UPDATE... The manufacture will not replace the stripped quick clamp but instead replace it with the small clamp used near the tablet mount. I also thought the bad clamp had threads of aluminum, but they're actually steel... and they still stripped! I ended up purchasing new clamps from McMaster-Carr that have a stainless steel inserts. MUCH BETTER QUALITY! The clamp threads are metric M6 x 1 thread, part number 60655K923. They run $10.76 each. Also of note is that the MC clamps insert is entirely made of stainless... it's not just the threads, but the entire body that houses the threads. The handle itself is zinc and similar, though a bit shorter and slimmer, than the original Arkon.

I'm dropping this review rating to 2 stars due to the manufacture not standing behind their product. It's sad they won't give a satisfactory remedy and replace the bad clamp with another more robust clamp... I'm sure they have something! They have to know this is a problem... unless they're in denial! I almost bought a few more things from Arkon, but deleted them from my cart! I will no longer deal with this kind of support!

If you plan on buying this, be aware the adjustable handle clamp(s) WILL STRIP!

I seldom write reviews but, This stand is simply amazing! So versatile but yet so STURRRDYY! I've had numerous stands but this really stands out on quality merits alone.

Usability is simply intuitive and I had no problems setting this up without the booklet. Best of all, I'm sure this stand will last me a long time. It's held up my ipad, books, anything I could throw at it that is within this stand's clamping width.

My deepest appreciation to ARKON and the team behind this who must've actually taken quite some time to engineer such an awesome product.

Works great with the Surface Pro3. This is a very sturdy mount. I bought a BESTEK Lengthened 34 inch mount for an iPad for myself. It doesn't always hold that tablet up, the weight causes it to bend. Granted the Arkon is about $60 more than the Bestek but I guess you get what you pay for. My wife wanted something to hold her Surface Pro 3 above her craft desk. The Arkon has adjustable clamps and fits the SP3 perfectly.
I might get one for myself now.

I use it to put my iPad Air 2 at eye level while working out on my treadmill. Looking down at an iPad or an iPhone is extremely bad for your posture and many in the medical profession are predicting that today's millennialis will be as stooped over as 80-year-olds by the time they reach 40. This device puts the iPad at eye-level for a person up to six feet tall. Check out the maximum opening of the C clamp (1.75") to be sure that it will fit on your treadmill. I mounted mine on a 1 inch diameter padded crossbar. It is extremely easy for me to insert and remove my iPad, with or without the case, and holds the iPad securely.
