First the picture does not represent the one I received. The one I actually received has the volume and base potentiaometers on one side and all the other controls (buttons) on a different side of the subwoofer. That makes control awkward. Secondly, this was the second system in my quest for the best bang for the buck small sub speaker system. The first was a Cyber Acoustics CA-3602a (returned because of poor sound quality - not reflective of the Amazon ratings overall which is over 4 stars IMO). This unit also suffers from poor sound quality and is extremely small. It would be adequate for a very small system if sitting right next to it. Do not expect it to sound good across the room. When I ordered this one I also ordered the Genius SW-G2.1 1250 2.1 Speaker System -- and did my own 'battle of the speaker systems'. Most of the time I will use my iPhone with the system and that's how I tested the two systems. The Genius system, while about $15 more, was the clear winner. Faaaar superior to this system in terms of sound quality and build quality. So this unit got returned - thanks Amazon. So save yourself the trouble if you can afford a few more dollars you will be far happier with the Genius. Oh, this has an FM radio built in which sounded good; however, you can't tell what channel you're on and the only way to tune is with scan buttons. If you never change the channel this would work fine -- and the system would deliver better sound than many portable systems. I have a stereo Grundig radio that I will use for the tuner with the Genius system so I'm all set radio-wise. If this review helped you please click that button. I really enjoy those Amazon emails I receive that I helped someone. Thanks!
