I ran 3 strands of wire around an acre of land and bridged them together before the battery box. It works even without a full sunlight spot. I get maybe 3-4 hours of solid light. When its a sunny day shock it strong! When its been cloudy that day or the day before the shock can be subtle. I've had it for less than a year. Haven't had it through a winter yet - wondering how it will hold up. Easy to install. I doubt it will work on 10 miles of electric fence but it works well enough with limited sun on an acre.

I have had this exact same model for over 15 years. The only thing I have had to do to it is replace the on/off switch and the battery one time. Recently my old unit quit working so I ordered this new one. By the time the new one came in I had found a bad connection on my old unit and had it working. I did charge the new unit and checked to see if it would work. It charged OK and seems to work OK.. I will use it on another fence at a later date. The only problem I had was that my original order was cancelled because they said the the price posted was incorrect. It was later posted at a higher price from Amazon. I ordered it again because it was still less expensive than the local stores. If this unit works as well as my old one I will probably never have to buy another one.

Set up was extremely easy because it had a place for the T post. Everything else is also good. Battery works, and I test it about once a week to make sure it's working. Rain or shine, this has kept my horses in line.
