I ordered these just to have as an extra set and they're perfectly fine. I've never had any issues with moisture getting into the tubing, and overall, they do what you need them to. With that being said, I do prefer the ones where the tube connects at the top, but I think those may only come with the original pump when you buy it. Those are just easier to connect and disconnect from the tubing, but it's not like it's any great challenge with the ones that connect in the back.

I had two sets when I left the hospital, but since I am exclusively pumping, I was having trouble keeping up with keeping them clean when having to pump every 2 hours. These are $10 at Walmart or Meijer, so the Amazon price is fantastic! However, the shield does not come apart from the connectors. While cleaning it is not much more difficult, it is more difficult to use with a hands-free pumping bra. I have to cram the connector end through the holes in the bra and it takes a bit more time. For me, the time spent is worth not having to pay $40 for a complete set though. While I am air-drying after pumping, I put a clean set through the holes so everything is ready to go for my next pumping session
Good replacement but messy for hands-free use.

Good replacement parts to keep on hand for less nightly washing. I find the one-piece construction as easy to clean as the original 2-part shield and valve, especially with a pipe cleaner (or the cleaning brushes from Dr. Brown's bottles). The suction seems exactly the same as the original parts. The only thing I find challenging is using this with a hands-free pumping bra. You have to stick it through the opening from the inside before closing the bra, and it gets a little messy to change bottles during pumping and when taking everything off at the end. There's always an inevitable drip of milk that escapes. Otherwise, this is a good, affordable purchase. I would buy again.
excellent addition to pump kit

I got a bunch of these so I wouldn't have to wash pump parts more than once a day...worth every penny. I was worried they'd be harder to clean because they aren't two parts like the medela brand, but I don't think so. I use the "no scrub soap" and let them soak and rinse and it works great. the money I saved buying these, I use to buy the brand-name soap... and then I have more time in my day!
Extra parts, recommend to purchase prototype if its cheaper.

Extra back up parts are always good as these break easily. I have broken two breast plates already, one while pugging into the Medela Classic pump at work and one as it fell to the floor. The Medela brand one comes in two parts, the breast shield and the bottom attachment. It all comes off for easier cleaning. The prototype of this works just as well but it is one piece so you you need a thin brush to make sure you clean it out well. A friend of mine had stuff growing in it. If there is a huge price difference, I would recommend going with the prototype because I have broken both types just as easily so it doesn't make any sense to pay more for the "Medela" brand if the plastic is the same.
