Got these for my portage notebooks and, unlike some brands, they fit like a glove. Nice, firm support for writing. Nicely made product. The pen pocket is convenient. Recommended!

I give this only 4 stars at this time because my experience with the item is new and therefore incomplete. Upon receipt the item was stiff and appears well constructed. The stiffness is both good and bad. Most of my colleagues use the smaller front pocket notepad. Some of us have recently experimented with the larger notepads, but we are then required to carry the pad in a back pocket. Unfortunately this means the notepad deteriorates quickly due, in part, to being sat upon. To preserve the notepad I sought out and purchased a cover. The stiffness of the leather makes note taking easier, however it is not the most comfortable item to sit on. What will be telling, will be how the cover breaks in. I work out in the weather so this spring and summer the cover will be getting wet from both rain and sweat. This will let me know if the cover gets more comfortable while being able to handle the rigors of my profession. Hopefully I can update this around September.

For those who write on the size pad that fits this cover it's great. I am a law enforcement officer and I use the notepad size that fits this cover. This cover helps you to write neater, as it gives you extra support and a little larger platform for balance while writing. If you have to take notes a lot while standing, don't want to use a bulky clipboard, and don't want your handwriting to look like chicken scratch, so you can read it later, then this is for you. I forgot to mention, the leather appears to be of good, solid quality, and I expect to get use out of it for several years.

This 4x8 Notepad cover was exactly what I expected it to be! Real genuine leather, and an excellent (perfect) size and fit to the portage notepads! The stitching gets a 9/10. It was *almost* perfect minus a loose thread. [Improvement] So far the one improvement plan I have for this cover is a piece of aluminum or perhaps some stiff cardboard to give the back of the cover a more sturdy feel. However that's a personal preference as this product is GREAT as is!
Decent if you want a notebook cover for a reporter's notebook.

The product is pretty decent. Not super nice, but decent. I ended up having to return the first one I ordered, as it looked like it had been caught against a wheel or burned at one corner. The return process was painless (thanks Amazon!) and I ordered a replacement that same day. Will fit in a back pocket, but if fits in one of my sport coat inner pockets but not the other with a pen in the pen holder.
