Small but good

This is my second roof rack on my 17 Outback.
The first was double the price of this and had a larger weight capacity. However it was also double the height causing not only a ton of noise but also roughly 5 - 7 mpg lost. I will say this isn't as nice as other racks out there. It is smaller gauge tubing and only has a capacity of 125lbs. For the here and there weekend trip it will do though. On my car the cross bars are almost to wide to attach to, but it works none the less. Also a big plus aside from the angle of the rack is the cut outs on either side in the front which makes mounting lights very easy with no modification to the rack it's self. For the money its good. In would seal all the joints with rustolleum before installing, those welds look like the will rust for sure .

Good Quality for the Price

Good quality, did not arrive scratched or bent and all holes lined up when assembling. Also no issues installing on 2016 Ford Explorer factory roof racks.
but is just as sturdy. The knob nut is flush with the basket ...

I would give this 5 stars for value and quality, but there is one fatal flaw in the item. The U-bolts are too long for some roof racks, leaving up to half an inch of exposed bolt in the cargo area. I understand they need to allow for taller racks, but they also need to provide for the smaller ones. Several sizes of plastic shim would have been perfect(instead of the single one it shipped with). I luckily noticed this before it put a hole in my cooler. There are 2 solutions I've found for this(I've owned 2, the first was stolen!).
1: Clamp the bolt and hacksaw it down to the right size, then file or dremel the burrs.
2: Attach it at the ends of the basket, so only half the bolts are exposed(the others will be under the lip). I did this the second time, and added some washers. 2 on the side under the lip, and 4 on the exposed end. I also angled the u-bolt so more bolt stuck up under the lip. From the side it looks a little angled now, but is just as sturdy. The knob nut is flush with the basket floor now.
One more tip for this: if you think there is a possibility of someone stealing it off your car, lock it to the roof rails with a bike lock. The roof rails are generally locked on, but this basket can be removed in a few minutes with no tools.

Great for 2011 Honda CRV!

Great value, easy install and much needed added storage for a 2011 Honda CRV.
I purchased this rack in the Spring 2015 to increase the cargo space of my CRV. We camp and go to the beach often and this rack has been a blessing. I have placed beach chairs, luggage, a tent/tarps and other odds and ends up there and secured with tie down straps without a worry. Traveled hundreds of highway miles without any issues. Be careful as the bolts are long and can damage the gear in the rack (see picture). I wish Highland would sell an extension. Some minor rusting on the bolts but it has survived heavy use so far.

Great product. Has held up well.

Was reluctant to get this and did a lot of research, this seemed to be the best value to functionality/quality I could find. It's worth taking a second to look at the directions (which I almost never do), as it helped with a couple of good install tips. So far no issues, rusting or otherwise. They have a rubber sleeve that goes over the joints, which can be a little tough to get into position, but seem to seal the seams pretty well, once in position. I've even hauled lumber on it, held up great. Also, got the cargo net that comes recommended. Used it for the first time today, and it actually held up. I did reinforce it to be safe, but it definitely assisted in securing the load. For reference: mine is attached to a Thule system and went on pretty easily. We have a 2014 Acadia, and although we could've gone with a bigger rack, I am happy with the functionality, look and ease of use (pretty simple to take on and off. Only con really, that it doesn't have a way to lock. So if someone was motivated enough and knew what they were doing, they could snag it in probably 10 or so minutes.
